Greetings!

Congratulations to everyone involved with the banquet!  Great food, fellowship and celebration of the successes of your Chamber were the highlight of the evening.  Chad and Julie Nabors were the reciepents of a downtown Oklahoma City getaway.  The getaway was the prize for the Chamber banquet raffle.   Home base for the getaway will be the luxury boutique hotel - the Colcord Hotel.  In addition to $300 in spending money the package includes a variety of passes to Frontier Country attractions.  Thanks goes to the Colcord Hotel and Frontier Country for making the package possible.

The success of any community is depended upon the contributions of it citizens.  Weatherford has proven this in the past with the success of past community wide strategic planning efforts and the accomplishments which resulted.  To be a part of this year's planning effort, take the online survey, link appears below, and then attend the community wide planning sessions.

Chamber members recently received their 2009 Chamber Membership Investment Statements and the response has been excellent.   Membership Investments are the lifeblood of any Chamber.  Thank you for your past and future support!

OK TEAM!

Weatherford was one of only three communities in southwest Oklahoma selected to be a part of the the new OK TEAM! (Tourism Enhancement, Assessment & Marketing) Program for 2009 sponsored by the Oklahoma Travel and Recreation Department.    OK TEAM! is a program where members of the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department staff work directly with tourism attractions and community leaders to create a strategic tourism marketing approach.

"We are extremely excited the Chamber's application was selected," states Jim Lovell, chairman of the Chamber's Tourism Committee.  "Weatherford's inclusion in this program will move the Chamber's tourism promotion efforts to the next level.  I want to thank all of the businesses and organizations who submitted letters of support with the application," concluded Lovell.

Tourism officials will be working with the Chamber's tourism committee in the areas of marketing, web site and return on investments.
