Greetings!

Membership is the life blood of the Weatherford Area Chamber and while our membership is strong, it can still be better!  How?  First, to those businesses who have not renewed their membership, please take a few minutes now to return your membership investment.

Next, as you do business with other Weatherford businesses, determine if they are a member.  If they are, thank them for their membership.  If they aren't, talk to them about why you are a member and why they should be a member!

Remember, a chamber membership is an investment in your business and your community.

Entry forms can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce.
Retail Trades and Christmas
We asked, you spoke and we listened!  Chamber members were polled recently to determine the theme for the 2008 Christmas promotion.  "Family and Friends" was the favorite and will be used as the theme for the 2008 promotion.

Details are still being developed, but the preliminary plans call for the promotion to begin in early November and have several winners throughout the promotion.  Linda Bartel and Colleen Schmitz head up this year's committee and thank everyone who responded to the poll.  Watch for additional details.

Weatherford to be Highlighted

Weatherford tourism entities will be highlighted May 16 at the Oklahoma Travel Center near Erick.  Throughout the day, Weatherford representatives will be on hand at the center, meeting with the travel counselors and the traveling public, talking with them about Weatherford's tourism opportunities.

Other plans call for a "Taste of Weatherford" to be available. Weatherford's dining, bakeries, etc are being asked to provide samples of their "wares" to serve as refreshments.  Chamber member businesses are being asked to provide approximately 2 dozen servings, menus or flyers, and an 8 1/2" x 11" sign for display.  Watch your email for complete details and a sign up form.

Ag Update
Weatherford area businesses contributed nearly $29,000 to the Chamber's Agri-Business Committee to support its 4-H and FFA exhibitors in 3 events  - the Weatherford Area Livestock Show,  Custer Co. Livestock Show, and the Weatherford Horse Show.    The funds are used to conduct and provide premiums and bonuses.

Thank you to the businesses who supported this year's events.  Watch your mail box for thank you notes from Weatherford's Custer Co. exhibitors.  Last Thursday night, the exhibitors turned in their thank you note before receiving their bonus checks!
.
