**Membership Investment

Chamber members recently received their 2008 membership investment invoices.  Thank you to all those who supported the Chamber in 2007 and we ask for your support again in 2008.  Your statement offered you the opportunity to increase your investment in the Chamber.  Please take the opportunity to review your invoice and consider increasing your investment.

Why It's Important
Exclamation PointHello, My name is Bill and my company does contract work in the construction industry. I am bidding a job in your city and need some info concerning accommodations, and materials. Do you have a list of RV parks and maybe some motels that rent by the week. Also I will need a drywall supply company, and a lumber yard in which to purchase materials.THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME. Bill

The above is an actual email received by your Chamber of Commerce and is representative of the requests we receive everyday.

In responding to his request we only referred Chamber members, which is why it is important to be a member and especially important to return your verification form.  We will use the verification form to make sure the information we have about your business is correct so that when we respond to these types of request the information is accurate.

We can't guarantee that you'll get business but we can guarantee that you were referred because of Chamber membership!
Retail Trades
Plans are underway for the 2008 Christmas Promotion.  Tentative plans call for the same types of promotion held in 2007.  Plans will be finalized soon.  Anyone interested is encouraged to attend the next Retail Trades Meeting set for March 4, 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce Office
Events Needed

In the next week or two the Chamber will receive a request from the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department advising us of the advertising and submission deadlines for Calendarthe 2009 Oklahoma Travel Guide and Calendar of Events.  This is the State of Oklahoma's premier promotion piece, showcasing hundreds of Oklahoma communities and events.  So take a few minutes now and start putting your information together so your event and Weatherford will be well represented in the guide.

Also, don't forget the Chamber's Tourism Committee is making plans for 2008 and a critical need is an annual Calendar of Events, highlighting those activities which would be of interest to the traveling public.  If you are part of an organization which has an event or activity meeting this criteria please  1) email the Chamber with the following information, name of event, date, time, location, ticket price, contact person with contact information, and a brief description and 2) go the Chamber's Web site calendar at www.weatherfordchamber.com and add the event to the calendar.

The Calendar of Events will be distributed at the Chamber office, locations in and around Weatherford, and at various travel shows and events, Weatherford will be attending.
