**Membership Investment

Chamber members recently received their 2008 membership investment invoices.  Thank you to all those who supported the Chamber in 2007 and we ask for your support again in 2008.  Your statement offered you the opportunity to increase your investment in the Chamber.  Please take the opportunity to review your invoice and consider increasing your investment. 

 

**Community Coffee

If your business is a Chamber Platinum member you have first choice on what month you would like to host Community Coffee for the 2008 year.  Please contact Amy and let us know when you would like to host this event. 

 

Support Our 4-H and FFA Livestock Exhibitors
Agriculture 
The Weatherford Area Livestock Show, set for February 9,  is the first in a series of Chamber sponsored agriculture events.  The show benefits the 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors.  The Chamber's Agri-Business committee is contacting area businesses now for support.  Your one donation goes to support the Weatherford 4-H and FFA exhibitors at the Weatherford show, the Custer County Livestock Show, and the April Weatherford Horse Show.  To add your name to the list of supporters, call the Chamber office at 772-7744!
Raffle Ticket Winner!
 Congratulations to Jeanne McRae, who was in attendance at the Chamber banquet, and Heather Hawkins.  Their $100 raffle ticket was drawn for the $3,0000 in Chamber Bucks!!!  Congratulations and thanks to all who supported the Chamber!
Events Needed
CalendarAs the Chamber's Tourism Committee makes plans for 2008, one critical need which has been noted is a Calendar of Events, highlighting those activities which would be of interest to the traveling public.  If you are part of an organization which has an event or activity meeting this criteria please  1) email the chamber with the following information, name of event, date, time, location, ticket price, contact person with contact information, and a brief description and 2) go the Chamber's Web site calendar at www.weatherfordchamber.com and add the event to the calendar.
 
The Calendar of Events will be distributed at the Chamber office, locations in and around Weatherford, and at various travel shows and events, Weatherford will be attending.
Committee Participation 
The start of a new year brings with it the start of new opportunities to become involved with the building of a better Weatherford through participation on Chamber committees.  Listed are the 2008 Chamber Committees.  Participation in any committee is open to any representative of a Chamber member.  To become a part of one of the committees, simply respond to this email or call the Chamber of Commerce @ 772-7744.  Also noted are the 2008 Committee Chairmen

2008 Community Coffees

Hosting a "Community Coffee" is a great opportunity to showcase your business or organization to the Weatherford business community.  There is no fee to host the event, your only expenses are refreshments and any mailings you may do to your mailing list inviting them to the event.  The Chamber of Commerce will advertise your Community Coffee in our "Weekly Agenda" email, monthly newsletter, and will even do a special email reminding the membership of the event.  To sign up, contact the Chamber of Commerce office at 772-7744.  Noted below are the 2008 dates.

Tourism and Travel Update 
 
Weatherford will be a part of the Great Plains Travel Show set for March 1 & 2 at Clinton's Frisco Center.  Working with the Heartland of American Museum and the Stafford Air and Space Museum, the Chamber will have a booth showcasing all of the exciting and unique travel opportunities available in Weatherford.  Participation in the Chamber's booth is open to any interested Chamber tourism partner!  To be a part of the booth, call the Chamber at 772-7744.
 
Weatherford continues to attract motorcoach tours.  The first one of the new year will be TimeLines on February 12.  Booking now for four tours in September is Tinker Federal Credit Union.
