Friends of Sampson County Waterways 2012 Wild Game Cookout
Saturday, January 7
12 noon at Clinton City Market (come earlier if you want to bring a dish to prepare on site).
Cost: $8 per plate for adults; $4 per plate children under 12; Children under 3 eat free. Bring a covered dish whether it is wild game or not and get one free adult plate/admission. The cookout, featuring wild game from the bounty of Eastern North Carolina: wild hog, beaver, squirrel, rabbit, bear, catfish, and venison are just some of the meats that will be served along with a variety of side dishes, desserts, and beverages. Member News
The Chamber has a new Article Block specifically for spotlighting Chamber Members. Any business interested in "being in the spotlight" will be required to fill out a Member Profile of 25 words or less and return it to the Chamber office by the 10th of the month prior to publication. Up to three Chamber Members may be published each month, and it is based on "first come first served". Therefore those who return their profile first get first chance at being published. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 12th Annual Business Reception

The Chamber's Multicultural Business Committee is preparing for the 12th Annual MLK, Jr. Business Reception scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2012 and is looking for support from community members such as local businesses and churches to be sponsors for this event.

42nd Annual Chamber Banquet
Tuesday, February 28 at 6:00 p.m.
Be on the lookout for your invitation to our 42nd Annual Banquet which honors our Chamber Members. Doors open at 6:00, meal begins at 6:30 and program begins at 7:00 p.m.
Included with your invitation, you will find the 2011 Awards Ballot from the Small Business Committee. The ballot will include 2011 nominees for the Entrepreneurial Success Award, Small Business Excellence Award and the Business Person of the Year Award. Please return your ballot by the due date (on ballot) to get your vote counted.
In addition, The Garnie Edwards Ambassador of the Year Award and The Outstanding Chamber Member of the Year 2011 will be awarded.

Sampson County Expo

The Clinton Sampson Chamber of Commerce and Sampson County Exposition Center are proud to announce the return of the Sampson County Business Expo. The event will be held at the Sampson County Exposition Center to showcase the best of Sampson County (and surrounding counties).

Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening at
G's Restaurant
Friday, December 2nd we welcomed a new Chamber Member and new business in our community with the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of G's Restaurant located at 361 North Boulevard, Clinton, (910) 565-0153. Owners Jose & Carla Gutierrez and daughter Isabel provided delicious samples of their menu items. G's is a family restaurant offering Cajun cuisine as well as burgers, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches. The Cajun recipes are from Carla's family recipes and like their other menu items, are made from scratch. Jose is active duty special forces. Stop by and enjoy lunch or supper at G's Restaurant and support a new business in our community.

Monday, December 5th we welcomed a new Chamber Member with a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening at Fitness 4 Women at their new location, 122 E. Elizabeth Street, Clinton, (910) 379-6785. Saturday, December 10th was a beautiful day for a Christmas Parade! There were entries of all kinds including marching bands, queens, clowns, dancers, fire & rescue vehicles, officials, classic cars and more! Be looking in mid-October for 2012 Christmas in Clinton Parade applications.

The 2nd Annual Chamber Coat Closet is still going strong, and hopefully is about to gear down. Coats have been collected from generous citizens, and purchased with the grant money received. The Chamber Coat Closet Committee has been working hard to collect, purchase, and distribute the coats. Coats have been distributed by several non-profit organizations including Migrant Education Program, Sampson County Schools, UCare, Sampson County Dept. on Aging and Dept. of Social Services, Sampson Crisis Center, Sampson County Partnership for Children, and Clinton Sampson Chamber of Commerce.
So far approximately 900 coats have been collected (via donation and purchasing). Approximately 400 have been distributed, with requests still coming in for coats.
