Liberty Hospice

 is looking for Hospice Volunteers one hour each week at Mary Gran & Southwood Nursing Centers. Liberty has patients who would like to have someone come visit them. The Guardian Ad Litem Program of NC
is a volunteer organization that represents abused and neglected children in court. Volunteers are court appointed child advocates from all cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds. Clinton Sampson Chamber of Commerce
is working to establish a list of volunteers to contact whenever volunteers are needed for mail-outs, office help, etc. If you are interested or know of someone that is retired that would be interested please contact the Chamber office by email or phone.

11th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Business Reception

A group of over 500 turned out for 11th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Business Reception held at the Sampson County Agri-Expo Center. The Multi-Cultural Business Committee did a great job of organizing, planning, and presenting a wonderful program/reception. The MLK Community Image Award was presented to Bill Scott and the family of Malachi Faison.

Make plans to attend Annual Banquet Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sampson County Agri-Expo Center in Prestage Hall (doors open at 6:15 p.m.). Table Sponsorship and reservations are currently on sale but your Membership Investment must be paid to get Chamber Member prices (you should have received your Member Investment Invoices in the mail the first week of January 2011, if not please contact the Chamber office). Don't forget to get your Small Business Awards Ballot in to the Chamber office before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011.

Corporate Table Sponsorship:
 - Gold = $250, reserved seating for eight people; business will be recognized as Annual Banquet Patrons and receive recognition at the banquet.
 - Silver = $125, reserved seating for four people (1/2 of an eight seat table); business will be recognized as Annual Banquet Patrons and receive recognition at the banquet.

The Ashford Inn had a good attendance for January Business After Hours on Thursday, January 20th. Everyone had a good time visiting and networking with fellow Chamber Members. As usual the refreshments were fabulous and too delicious to "just have one." Thanks Patty and Mason for a wonderful Business After Hours!

January 18th was Economic Development Day. The class began the day at the Sampson County Economic Development Commission then continued with tours at CINTAS, Schindler Elevator Corporation (who provided lunch), and Star Telephone Membership Corporation.
