Breast Cancer
Support Group

The SRMC Breast Cancer Support Group provides an opportunity for women with breast cancer to learn, comfort, support, and fellowship with others who battle this disease. Liberty Hospice

 is looking for Hospice Volunteers one hour each week at Mary Gran & Southwood Nursing Centers. Liberty has patients who would like to have someone come visit them. The Guardian Ad Litem Program of NC
is a volunteer organization that represents abused and neglected children in court. Volunteers are court appointed child advocates from all cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds. They are in great need of volunteers. If you feel you could help children, please contact Patrick Giddeons at

The Sampson County History Museum

Clinton Sampson Chamber of Commerce
is working to establish a list of volunteers to contact whenever volunteers are needed for mail-outs, office help, etc. If you are interested or know of someone that is retired that would be interested please contact the Chamber office by email or phone.

41st Annual Banquet Coming Up
Mark your calendars for the upcoming Annual Banquet Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sampson County Agri-Expo Center in Prestage Hall (doors open at 6:00 p.m.). Table Sponsorship and tickets go on sale beginning January 10th, but your Membership Investment must be paid to get Chamber Member prices (look for your Member Investment Invoices in the mail the first week of January 2011). Enjoy a delicious meal, classy entertainment, our 2010 Chamber slide show, and presentation of awards by our Small Business Awards Committee.

Thus far 1,001 coats have been collected, and 601 distributed!! If you know of anyone in need [of a coat] this season, please have them contact any of the following for a coat from the Chamber Coat Closet.

December 14th for Health and Human Services Day the class toured Sampson Regional Medical Center including their Outpatient Diagnostics Center, Cancer Center, Wellness & Rehabilitation Center. They also had orientation at the Sampson County Health Department, Mary Gran Nursing Center and Southwood Nursing/Retirement Center, finishing the day at Sampson County EMS.

BAH at GO Automotive December 16th had a great turn-out. It was quite festive, with delicious refreshments, and Mr. Jesse Lindsay winning the drawing for the 30 day use of a Toyota Venza SUV from GO Automotive! Also, it was good to see Mr. Garnie Edwards, Honorary Ambassador attending BAH.

Congratulations to Paul Harn for winning Ambassador of the Quarter for October through December! Paul was the Ambassador who had the most points for attending Chamber events and volunteering.
