"Business Success in Tough Times"
On June 11, the Small Business Center
in collaboration with the Small Business Technology & Development Center at UNC Pembroke will conduct a seminar titled "Business Success in Tough Times."  This seminar will take place on the campus of Sampson Community College in the William C. Aiken Occupational Building from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Light breakfast refreshments will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The purpose of the seminar is to provide local businesses with information to help them survive, even thrive, during challenging economic conditions.  In addition, participants will also be educated concerning resources available to them and specifically encouraged to seek out the one-on-one confidential counseling services offered by the SBC and the SBTDC.

The major focus and highlight of the seminar will come from the group of panelist consisting of Jimmy Matthews of Matthews Drugs and Matthews Cards & Gifts, Rex Moody of New Century Bank, Beth Wilkerson, a SBTDC representative at UNC Pembroke and Leslie Crawley of PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) from the SBTDC at UNC Fayetteville State.  In addition, we will have a representative from the Small Business Administration, local commercial lenders, economic development representatives and local officials.  Time will be allocated before and after the seminar for participants to network and approach representatives on an individual basis.

The Seminar is co-sponsored by the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce, Matthews Drugs / Matthews Cards & Gifts, New Century Bank  and the Small Business Technology and Development Center*.

* The SBTDC is administered by NC State University on behalf of The University of North Carolina System and operated in partnership with the US Small Business Administration.

NCFlyPorts and Clinton-Sampson County Airport "Business Day-Travelers" Program with SATSair
NC FlyPorts Logo
North Carolina's NCFlyPorts Program and Clinton's Sampson Airport recently announced the latest in air service availability for North Carolinians.  The "Business Day-Travelers" program by SATSair, a provider of customized "on-demand" air taxi service in the United States since 2004, offers special rates for one day trips out of Sampson County Airport to any destination throughout the service area.

"Business Day-Travelers" will enable business professionals in Clinton and the Sampson County market to improve their productivity by doing more business throughout North Carolina and the Southeast in less time.  Operating from Clinton's Sampson County Airport, these customer-designed trips will be offered at the special savings of $100 per hour off the normal cost of the trip.  Using the modern, fast and comfortable Cirrus SR-22 aircraft, SATSair's "Business Day-Travelers" program will pick up passengers at SampsonCounty Airport or any of the NCFlyPorts coalition airports take them directly to the airport nearest their destination, and return within a 12 hour window.

"During these hard economic times, making long term contractual commitments for corporate air
travel may be challenging for some companies.  The SATSair mission is to provide the best value in
point-to-point personal air transportation - and at this special price, more business professionals can enjoy the convenience and efficiency our service provides," said Phil Quist, Vice President of Business Systems, SATSair. "Our program will allow companies in North Carolina to conduct out of town business meetings anywhere up and down the east coast - and be home that night."

SATSair's "Business Day-Travelers" program provides the benefits of a personal private aircraft: no standing in line or connections at major airports to get to your destination, and no long drives to business meetings.  "Business Day-Travelers" will have the advantage of using SATSair's fleet of 26 Cirrus SR-22 aircraft to fly across the Southeast at a discounted rate. "Using Sampson County's comfortable and convenient airport terminal, adjacent parking is only a few steps away.  You are just a short drive from Clinton, and you need only arrive 15 minutes before your departure time.  Our pilot greets you, leads you to your plane, and flies you non-stop to your destination.  Business travel has never been so civilized," said Quist.

SATSair, a provider of "Air Taxi" services since 2004, flew over 2,100 flights in North Carolina last year alone.  SATSair offers business professionals a valuable travel tool that can maximize productivity, promote customer relationships and expand business revenue potential.

SATSair is one of the many air transportation service providers participating in the State's NCFlyPorts Program.  The NCDOT Aviation Division has been working to increase visibility and viability of the State's more than 75 airports.

In addition to the special fares from Sampson County Airport, SATSair is also offering discounted fares from Raleigh and from the other ten airports across the state participating in the Aviation Division's NCFlyPorts Program.  $100 off the already low everyday fares offered by SATSair will be available from several regions.

SATSair is not the only carrier participating in the NCFlyPorts Program for North Carolina.  Shelly Reams, Principal, NCFlyPorts stated "We also work extensively with very reputable flight companies like FlightGest, Jet Pool, Imagine Air, and SkyWay Air Taxi - just to name a few."  The NCFlyPorts Program's goal is to increase availability and awareness of reasonable air service to everyday business and leisure travelers, from point-to-point locations.  "On-demand air service can be a real business tool. These carriers aim their services at prudent business travelers who find that additional time spent on the road is more costly to their bottom line and who want to lighten the stress load and wear and tear on their staff."  Reams added, "Point to point travel is becoming reasonable to vacationers who just want to get more vacation out of their vacation time!"  Ms. Reams also said that there are extensive carrier capabilities available throughout North Carolina and there will be more special offers provided by the host of flight companies participating in the NCFlyPorts program.  The best way to check for updates is by visiting NCFlyPorts.com.

About NCFlyPorts
NCDOT's Aviation Division has been working for over a year now on a program to increase the public's awareness of the many uses and economic benefits of utilizing local airports across the state.  The Division's sponsorship, along with participation from the federal government's Small Community Air Service Development Program, has contracted to develop the state's ability to provide "on demand air service" in and out of eleven communities in North Carolina.  The educational and promotional effort is aimed at providing reasonable air service opportunities to communities throughout North Carolina while increasing the public's awareness of the advantages of local airports.  More Information about NCFlyPorts can be found at ncflyports.com, & clintonsampsoncounty.ncflyports.com.
