Sampson Community College now offers North Carolina Career Readiness Certification Program
For businesses and industries considering a move to North Carolina or for existing companies planning to expand, the availalble workforce is a driving factor in the decision-making process. Today's employers are increasingly concerned that employees have the necessary skills to succeed in a changing workpace. It is projected that by 2010 more than 80% of all jobs will require skills beyond the high school level. Consequently, both job seekers and employed workers must demonstrate more advanced skills or the ability to develop new skills through on-the-job training. North Carolina's Career Readiness Certification (CRC) Program is designed to help both employers and job hunters. CRC gives employers tools to determine whether potential employees have the literacy, numeracy and problem solving skills necessary to be "job ready." Job seekers benefit because CRC gives them a recognized credential that shows employers their skill level. North Carolina's CRC program is administered through the commuity college system. Sampson Community College oversees the instruction and testing for job seekers in Sampson County. For more information, contact Toledo Kemmer at 910-592-7176 ext. 4003, or visit www.crcnc.org.
