Greetings!
I hope all is well with you and that you enjoyed your summer. My hot and muggy Memphis summer was fun and busy this year. The grand kids visited and we hung out playing games, watching movies, and going on an occasional outing. I watched my garden grow and prosper and fail and falter, sometimes on the same plant. All in all, though, it's coming along and ending up on my dinner plate.
But summer heat has given way to breezy, comfortable early fall temperatures and cooler weather is just around the corner. It won't be long before we're bundling up again. So I created a new collection of gorgeous handmade wraps for fall to give you some unique alternatives when you're shopping for things to keep warm. There's evidence all around that our old ways are broken, that the status quo doesn't serve us well. A key example is the over production and mass-marketing of low-quality products designed with replacement in mind. So buying handmade is about a lot more than supporting artisans and getting good products that give you more bang for your buck. It's also about reducing our dependence on high-volume production systems and manufacturing processes that exploit people and destroy natural resources. Like recycling, buying handmade is another way to support the planet. And Heartful Village has loads of resources that help you find beautiful, high-quality, unusual handmade products. |
