| Greetings!
It took awhile, but I'm pretty much back into my normal routine after my trip to Los Angeles. I had a great time over eight days that slipped by too fast. When I left Memphis, the air was clear and still mildly crisp. When I returned, it had warmed up and everything was covered with a thick layer of golden pollen that had waited patiently to deliver my yearly suffering: Teary ichy eyes, clogged sinuses, wheezy congested bronchi, and spacy edginess. Oh woe was me! But I'm much better now. And I hope all is well with you.
Mother's Day is just around the corner, so besides all the goodies in Handmade Lookup I've made some additional gift picks I hope you'll like. There are also some nice jewelry items on the sidebar of this newsletter. And be sure to check out Sales & Specials, too.
New Handmade Lookup entries are summarized below. |

emersonmade
Artificial flowers are taken to a whole new level by Emerson, the fabric gardener behind EmersonMade. She hand dyes fine linen, wool, and silk, then cuts and sews it into amazing blooms for corsages, wristlets, and boutonnieres. But Emersonmade is about more than just formals and wedding wear. Oversized (or tiny) brightly colored (or pastel) roses, poppies, and dahlias can be used to adorn hair, lapels, shoes, whatever, to make a fashion statement that is dramatic (or subtle). It's up to you. |

The creative spirit at the Jewelry Bar, in New York City, loves crystals (so do I). She says her favorites are lemon topaz, labrodorite, kyanite, gray moonstones, and london blue topaz. Her shop is a crystal lovers paradise, where you'll also find various varieties of chalcedony, quartz, amethyst, citrine, and more. You'll even find lovely pieces made of pearls and gold. artompotamus
Artompotamus, in St. Augustine, makes delightfully whimsical step stool/benches for kids (up to 70 lbs in weight). But they're so colorful and cheery, I think they'd make wonderful accent pieces, or planter stands, or cat beds, or whatever other excuse you can think up to use one to brighten a space in your home. |

Until next time . . .
Peace.
