LBJ is Underway |

As you may have heard, LBJ Freeway is being rebuilt between N. Central Expressway and I-35E. If you thought High 5 or N. Central was a major construction project, you ain't seen nothin yet.
The project is going to be 5 years long, but TxDOT is incorporating many of the lessons it learned from its previous two major projects in Dallas to minimize the pain. These include charging lane closure fees to the contractor which increase during peak times, penalties for delays and bonuses for completing the project early.
