Good Judgment
|
|
How often do we give someone the benefit of the doubt? Most people, myself included, tend to simply judge people without getting the full story. In the first few seconds of meeting them, in fact.
Studies have shown that less judgmental people are happier and normally healthier. The Bible has even warned us to judge not that we may not be judged (Matthew 7:1). And yet, isn't judgment an important part of business and relationships?
Of course, it is. This month I invite us to consider the difference between judgment and discretion. We could use a little less of one and a lot more of the other.
As this video shows, judging too quickly may not give us an actual picture of the truth.
I'd be interested in your thoughts on this.

Honest Sales? Really? |
|
|
An honest salesman? What about an honest commercial? That seems like an oxymoron in this day and age, but according to a TIME magazine article, it isn't.
After launching a new "honest" advertising campaign based on the truth about their old product and how it has improved, Domino's Pizza has seen a dramatic increase in sales - 9.9% same-store sales in 2010 compared to 2009.
Now, how do we apply this principle in each of our businesses?
