Greetings!

When we think of spring, usually green enters the scene. Green grass, green trees.....you get the picture. This year green has an whole new connotation. We aren't tree-huggers around here, however, there are certain applications that make sense and can save a business lots of money.

The main three, of course, are reduce, recycle and reuse. Some basic ideas are disconnect equipment not in use, use high-efficiency light bulbs and shop for energy-efficient computers, monitors, fax machines, etc. For more information and ideas, click here.

2009 Recovery Act and the SBA

empty pocketsClay Stamson with First National Bank Southwest told us recently of some really exciting provisions in the Recovery Act for small business.

The Treasury Department will commit up to $15 billion to help unlock the secondary markets for small business loans. By purchasing these securities, the Treasury Department will facilitate the ability of lenders to make new loans to small businesses by providing confidence that there will be a ready buyer for those loans in the secondary market.

In addition, the SBA is immediately implementing two key provisions of the Recovery Act - 1) temporarily eliminating certain loan fees, and 2) raising guarantee levels on some of its loans. These steps will provide lenders with the security they need to start lending again to the millions of small business owners desperately in need of capital.

Finally, the Treasury Department issued a call for new reporting requirements designed to better track small business lending by banks and unveiled guidance from the IRS for an expanded "carryback" provision that will offer many small businesses a tax refund.

Value Proposition?
What is a value proposition? The textbook answer is a business or marketing statement that summarizes why a consumer should buy a product or use a service.

Reata, for example, is unique because of our landlord experience. We can represent our clients better than our competition because of 20 years representing the other side.

We'd like to hear from you. What is your value proposition? How does that set you apart from your competition?

New Sublease!
Plano Sublease
Subleases can often save 20% - 50%.  They are also usually short-term which allows for greater flexibility when a company's future isn't exactly crystal clear.

We just picked up a client who has a great space with high visibility on Plano Parkway just east of N. Central Expressway in Plan.

Visit the Properties page in our website to learn more. It features the excess space we have listed which our clients no longer need.  If you don't see what you need there, let us know and we can find all subleases in the market.
