 B3 Approves this Message Greetings!
It's a big election year! And that means lots of public cat fighting, mud-slinging, partisan squabbling from here to November. Take a break from the political pot shots and stop by B3, where the only thing we're campaigning for is a chance to put tasty goodness into your happy tummy. As for this month's menu ... well, the calendar says Fall but the weather still feels like summer. So, we're bringing a taste of BOTH seasons to you and we'll let you vote for the flavors that speak to you.
P.S. Labor Day, we'll be here happily laboring. So stop on by. We're open 8 AM- 9PM. |

September Beers: Pumpkin Ales
It's still here, but up north, things are starting to cool down. And with that, comes the first round of Pumpkin Beers. Pumpkin ale as we know it today is entirely an invention of the craft-brewing "revolution". Though pumpkin beers did exist in the early days of the American colonies, pumpkin was not used then as it is now in modern pumpkin beers. Historically, the pumpkin replaced malt as the source of fermentables. Pumpkin was used out of necessity in the malt-scarce North American colonies, and as soon as malt was available it replaced alternatives and adjuncts. Nowadays, modern brewers capitalize on the fun side of the pumpkin flavors. Rich, earthy and spicy, these beers offer something very unique that you just don't get from other types of beer.
Shipyard Pumpkin Head Ale, Maine - Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale is a crisp and refreshing wheat ale with delightful aromatics and subtle spiced flavor. Hints of pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon aromas and flavors. 5% ABV
Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale, California - Like a pyramid for a pharaoh, Weyerbacher set out to make a bold monument for The King of the Pumpkins! This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is the mother of all pumpkin ales. It is heartier, spicier, and more "caramelly" and "pumpkiny" than its faint brethren! |

Wine: Vino de Espana
This month ushers in The Vuelta Espana (Tour of Spain) ... the last of the Grand Tours for this year. 21 days of racing across Spain, including 8 mountain summit finishes. To celebrate this wonderful race we are offering a wonderful red wine and Spain's most popular pilsner beer.
Montebuena '09, Rioja, Spain - Produced from 100% Tempranillo grapes, which are hand harvested from the Montebuena vineyard. Montebuena Red has a spicy vanilla bouquet; brilliant deep ruby-red color, fruity aromas; and is smooth in the mouth with some well-integrated secondary nuances, full-flavored and a persistent pleasant finish.
Estrella Damm Pilsner, Spain - Estrella Damm is an outstanding Spanish pilsner, brewed in Barcelona since 1876 and considered the flagship beer of S.A. Damm, a prominent Barcelona brewery. "Estrella" means "Star" in both Spanish and Catalan. 5.5% ABV |
