We've got some yummy things starting this month, too! All of our sandwiches will be available on locally made sub rolls; Kernel Encore (our newest local vendor!) will be bringing their delicious popcorn balls to the bakery case, and Kathy at Heartsong coookies has come up with a to-die-for VEGAN lemon poppy seed cookie.
Oh, and we're ALSO celebrating St. Patrick's Day on March 17 by sayin' "Top o' the Mornin', Afternoon, and Evening" to ya. That's right, we're offering HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY!! Gotta love them, Irish!

March Beers: Classically Awesome Beer!
It's March! Time for one of the biggest one-day cycling races of the year, often referred to as "The Classics". The first Classics is Milan - San Remo in Italy, the longest race of the year at 298 KM. After that, riders amble their way north to the heart of cycling city, Belgium. Three brutal races, with only a few days in between in each event, push riders to the limit both physically and mentally (E3 Prijs Vlaanderen, Gent - Wevelgem and Ronde van Vlaanderen). To win one of these races makes you hero, to win ALL of these races makes you a legend.
Belgians love their cycling and they love great beer (just as much as we do), so this month we are bringing Belgium to B3 with some great videos from the classic races and some even better beers from the land of the classics.
Leffe Blonde, Belgium - A dry, fruity, lightly spiced beer, full and creamy - a perfect balance of strength and subtlety. The brand has a delicate and light, malty aroma and a subtle, sweet finish. 6.6% ABV.
Stella Artois, Belgium - Stella Artois was first brewed as a Christmas beer in Leuven. It was named Stella, from the star of Christmas, and Artois after Sebastian Artois, founder of the brewery. It's brewed to perfection using the original Stella Artois yeast and the celebrated Saaz hops. It's the optimum premium lager, with it's full flavor and clean crisp taste. 5.2% ABV.
Palm Ale (Amber Ale), Belgium - Palm Ale has long been one of Europe's top-selling specialty beers and when you taste it, you will know why. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, Palm represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It's the roasted Champagne Malt which gives Palm its amber color, but without being heavy. 5.2% ABV
Grimbergen Dubbel (Double), Belgium - A dark burgundy, top-fermented Abbey Beer with a full body. The mixture of different malts and the use of dark candy sugar combine to produce a delicious sweet toffee taste with a brandy-like finish. The name Double refers to the fact that it has been fermented twice: once in the barrel, then again in the maturation cellars. 6.5% ABV
Chimay Premium Red Ale, Belgium - Topped with a creamy head, this ale gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurized. 7% ABV. |

Wine: A Taste of France and Italy
This month we're pouring some oh-so-nice French wines in honor of the Paris-Nice (a.k.a. "The Race to the Sun"), held from March 4-11th, as well as some classy Italian vino in honor of Milan Sanremo ("The Spring Classic"), the longest professional one-day race (held this year on Saturday, March 17th). Here's what you can expect on the B3 wine list to get you in a European state of mind:
Noir 46, Malbec '07, France - French Malbec wines from Cahors have been known throughout history as the "Black Wine" and are reputedly the darkest in the world as they are almost black, or "Noir" in color. Noir 46 is the essence of French Malbec. Intensely rich color and delicious fruit flavors.
Cortenova, Montepulciano d'Abbruzo '09, Veneto, Italy - 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo - Traditional vinification at controlled temperature. Deep ruby red color with violet highlights and a pleasant and fruity bouquet. Full bodied, soft tannins and good acidity. This wine is produced at Casa Vinicola Botter, a family owned winery founded in 1928 and run today by the third generation.
Borgo Molino Corte Delle Rose, Pinot Grigio, Italy - Fresh fruity bouquet of wild flowers, pears and quinces. In the mouth a nice, invigorating freshness, precise, elegant fruitiness on the palate and mild acidity. Delicate flavor and aftertaste for a Pinot Grigio, with delicate almond notes. A sparkling clean Pinot Grigio with the typical freshness and lightness. |

B Creative Artist Open House: Brian Kulbaba
Saturday March 10th
8:00PM with music by DJ OAM

Our new B Creative Artist for the months of March and April is: Brian Kulbaba. Brian is a photographer who does not use a camera. His moment of creativity occurs without the snap of a shutter, but rather, relies on his understanding and control of the chemical components of photography. His work deconstructs the notion of duplication commonly found in photography: the procedure can be repeated but the results are variable. His art captures a number of instinctive characteristics which convey an emotion or message which offer the viewer an experience-an opportunity to see the work through the artist's mind's eye |

B Nice:
Fern Creek Elementary School FOOD PANTRY
At Fern Creek Elementary, right here in neighboring Colonialtown, 84% of the kids are on free or reduced lunch, and 20% are homeless. Every Friday, the school provides food to any child who might not otherwise have enough food to eat on the weekend. This month, we're hosting a FOOD DRIVE to help stock their food pantry in support of this very needed service. All month long we'll be accepting donations of non-perishable food items. (note: The school also has a "boutique" that clothes five families each week.) _______________________________ |
