OCTOBER 2011

Ladies enjoying coffee with b3 mugs
Time to get out!

Greetings!

There ain't no party like a B3 party cos' a B3 party don't stop!!! Hey hay! Holiday party season is right around the corner. If you plan on having your "must be there" party at the Place to B, give us a call soon; our private party slots are booking quickly. We're also taking pre-orders for platters and other party menu noshables.

Oh, and don't forget that B3 is now open on Monday nights. To help kick your week off right, starting Oct 17, we're hosting the wildly popular Earth Trivia at the café every Monday night. So come have some fun and put all of your useless knowledge to good use.

October Beers: Beers that say BOO!

In honor of Halloween, we're serving up seasonal beers SO good it's scary! This line up of scary tasty brews is sure to give you the chills (in a good way). Here's what we're serving --if you think you can handle it!

rogue deadRogue Dead Guy Ale, Oregon - In the early 1990s the first Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day). This beer is brewed in the style of a German Maibock, using Rogue's proprietary Pacman ale yeast. Dead Guy Ale has a deep honey color with a malty aroma and a rich hearty flavor. 6.5% ABV.

Stone Arrogant Oaked Bastard Ale, California - From the label on the back of the bottle... "This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory - maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it's made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better." Enough said. 7.2% ABV

Atlanta Brewing Red Brick Laughing Skull Amber Ale, Georgia - Back from the dead and better than ever! Like a zombie that just won't die, one of the South's favorite craft beers is back. This newly reincarnated version of Laughing Skull is a full flavored amber ale with a crisp, clean finish that's sure to clear out the cobwebs. So crack open a Skull! You'll be glad you did. 5.4% ABV.

Stone Brewery India Pale Ale (IPA), California - Medium bodied, refreshing ale light-medium malt character with a heavy dose of over the top hops! Two full weeks of "dry hopping" give this beer its abundant hop aroma and crisp hop flavor. 6.9% ABV.

Wines: Bordeaux Blends

Produced in the Bordeaux region of France, known for its excellent environment for growing vines, Bordeaux varietals comprise some of the most commonly loved table wines as well as some of the most expensive and prestigious wines in the world. 89% of wine produced in Bordeaux is red (called "claret " in Britain), with notable sweet white wines such as Chateau d'Yquem dry whites, rosé and sparkling wines (Crémant de Bordeaux) all making up the remainder. This month we're sharing two of our favorite Bordeaux blends, so mix things up and give them a try.

Chateau Bonnet Reserve Bordeaux '07, Francethis refreshing, juicy red from classic Bordeaux varietals 50% Cabernet and 50% Merlot is crafted at Château Bonnet, a 17th century estate found north of the Entre-Deux-Mers, on the clay-chalk slopes of the commune of Grézillac, overlooking the Dordogne Valley some 10km south of Saint Emilion.

Chateau Greysac '06, Medoc, FranceThis is a beautiful, medium bodied, left-bank Bordeaux loaded with red fruits with mild tannins upon release. 50% Cabernet, 38% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.
