March Beers: Victory for Taste!
This month we are featuring the Victory Brewing Company out of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Victory was founded in 1996 by Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet. Before opening Victory Brewing Co., Coaleski and Barchet traveled to Europe to learn from the best brewers in Belgium and Germany. When they came back to the U.S. they brought with them century old brewing techniques heavily based in German traditions and combined it with their good ol' American creativity to produce some of the best craft brew in the Northeast. They also sponsored a professional women's cycling team and currently support cycling on local and regional levels.
Victory Brewing HopDevil (IPA), Pennsylvania - Menacingly delicious, with the powerful, aromatic punch of whole flower American hops backed up by rich, German malts. HopDevil Ale offers a roller coaster ride of flavor, coasting to a smooth finish that satisfies fully. 6.7% ABV. Victory Brewing Prima Pilsner, Pennsylvania - Heaps of hops give this pale lager a bracing, herbal bite over layers of soft and smooth malt flavor. This refreshing combination of tastes makes Prima a classy quencher in the tradition of the great pilsners of Europe. 5.3% ABV.
Victory Brewing Golden Monkey (Belgian Ale), Pennsylvania - Strong and sensual, this golden, Belgian-style ale glows. The richness of German malts and Belgian yeast are tempered by a sparkling approach and overall light body. Abundant herbal, fruity notes make this one to savor. 9.5% ABV. Victory Brewing Storm King (Imperial Stout), Pennsylvania - With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart. 9.1% ABV. |

Wines: Sunny Wines for Spring Races
This month our wines honor two European bike races. The 69th Paris-Nice ("The Race to the Sun") is a stage race in which 17 teams of 8 riders speed toward the finish line from Sunday, March 6th to Sunday, March 13th. Made up of 1 prologue (time trial) and 7 stages; this event's total distance covers 1,300 kilometers. The Milan-San Remo ("The Spring Classic") is an annual race between Milan and, you guessed it, San Remo, Italy (imagine that!). It is the longest professional one-day race (held this year on Saturday, March 19th) at 294 kilometers and was first organized by the Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport in 1907.
L'Estandon White Blend, France - A blend of Rolle (60%), Ugni Blanc (30%) and Sémillon (10%). A pale lemon color with flashes of green. The nose is subtle, with hints of white flowers. A clean, mineral-laden palate finishes with notes of citrus and white-fleshed fruits.
Barton & Guestier, Cote du Rhone, Rhone Valley, France - This Rhone blend is flavorful, combining fruity aromas of ripe strawberries and cherries with peppery notes. Very fresh on the palate with a long aromatic finish. 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Carignon.
Chateau Greysac '04, Medoc, France - A beautiful medium bodied left-bank Bordeaux loaded with red fruits with mild tannins upon release. 50% Cabernet, 38% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.

Villa Pozzi Nero D' Avola, Italy - Seductively reveals a perfume of black-berry liqueur, white flowers, vanilla and a hint of figs. Opulent and full-bodied, with great intensity, superb purity, and a layered, seamless personality.

Seasonal Soup:
In honor of our St. Patrick's Day Irish love, we're, of course, serving Potato Soup this month. Creamy and buttery, this traditional favorite is made without bacon to allow the natural flavors of potatoes, onions, and chives to come through in this satisfying, vegetarian soup.

Seasonal Treats & Drinks
With shamrock spirit running high this month, we're embracing our inner Nutty Irishman with these "lucky" St. Patrick's Day-inspired treats. First up, our Nutty Irishman latte, hazelnut and Irish cream syrups blended with espresso and milk (can be served hot or over ice, caffeinated or decaffeinated).
We also have a Nutty Irishman Waffle that is so delish it will leave you seeing "Double Rainbows" (whoa! What does it meeeeean?!! Haha): this warm Belgian waffle has oatmeal and cinnamon mixed in the batter, is topped green apple, and served with a side of our real maple syrup.
If you need bubbles to help you dance a jig, our Irish Cream Italian Soda is sure to get those Irish eyes a' smilin'!
As for our gelato, well, we're keeping the Chocolate Covered Cherry, which isn't really Irish, but it is super yummy.

St. Patrick's Day
Thursday, March 17th

Come in on St. Patrick's Day and enjoy $2.50 Irish beers all day and night. Get your Irish on with a swig of Harpoon Celtic Ale - a deep amber Irish red ale that is malty and complex.
