Feel the Breeze! Greetings!
Shhhh! Be really quiet!! We don't want to scare it away! We're talking, of course, about the amazing cooler weather that keeps shyly tip- toeing around the start and end of each day. Maybe, if we're really nonchalant, it will decide to stick around ALL DAY for awhile. Ya think? Well, B3 is doing its part to coax Fall along, by setting the stage with an All Things Autumn lineup of great seasonal beers, wines, and tasty menu items. So stop by and chill out with us in this fantastic almost-chilly weather.
Over the Halloween weekend, we'll be showing "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and passing out candy to kids (ok, and adults!) in costume! |

October Beers: Oooooh we've got SCARY beers!
Sometimes a beer is just SO good, it's scary. In honor of the Halloween season, we've assembled a line up of scary tasty brews that are sure to give you the chills (in a good way). Here's what we're serving --if you think you can handle it!:
Rogue "Dead Guy Ale", Oregon: The first Dead Guy Ale was created in the early 1990s as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day). This beer is brewed in the style of a German Maibock, using Rogue's proprietary Pacman ale yeast. Dead Guy Ale has a deep honey color with a malty aroma and a rich hearty flavor. 6.5% ABV.
Stone "Arrogant Bastard Ale", California: "You're not worthy".This beer's tagline and label says it all: "This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory - maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it's made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better." Enough said. 7.2% ABV
Atlanta Brewing "Red Brick Laughing Skull Amber Ale", Georgia: Back from the dead and better than ever! Like a zombie that just won't die, one of the South's favorite craft beers is back. This newly reincarnated version of Laughing Skull is a full-flavored amber ale with a crisp, clean finish that's sure to clear out the cobwebs. So crack open a Skull! You'll be glad you did. 5.4% ABV.
Shipyard "Pumpkin Head Ale", Maine: B3's original Fall beer, the world famous Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale. A crisp refreshing wheat ale with delightful aromatics and subtle spiced flavors. Hints of nutmeg. Get it while the gettin's good! |
Wines: I'll Have the Red, Please!
Now that cooler weather is descending, it's time to reach for a red! At B3, we loooove big full-bodied red wines so we're excited to polish up those large red wine glasses and un-cork some of our old friends. This month come by and relax with a glass, maybe even sit outside and savor that sumptuous cool breeze!
Chateau Greysac '04, Medoc, France: A beautiful medium-bodied left-bank Bordeaux loaded with red fruits with mild tannins upon release. 50% Cabernet, 38% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.
Rosenblum, Syrah, California: A full-bodied wine with incredible depth and layers of black fruit, smoke, lavender, herbes de Provence, and a silky touch of vanilla bean that adds to the beautiful finish.
Sterling Organic Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma, California: The wine opens with a deep purple color and ripe black fruit lifted by toasty oak and vanilla. Well-integrated tannins carry the blackberry, currant and plum flavors through the middle and into a lengthy finish. Smooth and polished, the wine holds a fine balance of firm, ripe fruit and lively acidity.
Sterling Meritage, Sonoma, California: Rhymes with "heritage". The American way of labeling a Bordeaux style blend. Big flavors of blackberry jam, black cherry and chocolate with a spicy finish. Yum! 52% Cabernet, 44% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 1% Petite Verdot spice and chocolate. The full and silky palate reveals layers of juicy ripe berry fruit, dark chocolate, and a touch of sweet oak on the finish. |
