Ladies enjoying coffee with b3 mugs
It's About Time!

Greetings!
palm tree
Open those windows and let the balmy breezes blow through, ya'll, because B3 is gettin' all kinds of tropical in honor of this spectacular sunny weather. 'Dats right, mon! We're in an island state-of-mind and after a visit to B3 this month, you will be, too.
April Beers: Bad-Ass Belgians (oh, and Mango, too)
Behold, cycling enthusiasts!! It is time once again for Belgian's notorious Ronde van Vlaanderen (a.k.a. the Tour of Flanders), the hardest single-day bike race in ...duhn, duhn DUHN! ... the WORRRLD!!! Combining ancient cobblestone roads with unrelenting short, steep climbs and some of the nastiest weather Europe has to offer, this race is for the true bad-asses of cycling. Oh yes! Don't you feel all bad-ass just reading about it? (Grrr!!) Well, guess what, you couldn't handle it!! Eh, neither could we. So, let's console ourselves by knocking back a few not-bad-at-all Belgian beers instead. Here's what we've got on this month's line up:

blanche beerFeatured Belgian Beer: Blanche de Bruxelles (Witbier), Witbier is a very old style of beer, a speciality of the farm-breweries of old Brabant. The master brewers used their very best crops to make it. Blanche de Bruxelles owes its natural cloudiness to the large percentage (40%) of wheat that goes into its composition. The natural spice aromas of coriander and bitter orange peels are added during the brewing process. The beer, which is not filtered, is bottled and refermented with yeast and brewing sugar. You need only take a sip of this delicious drink to appreciate the fresh and mellow flavour with its hint of orange.

Want a few more Belgians to sample? Try these on for size: Grimbergen Dubbel (Double); De Koninck Ale; Chimay Premium Red Ale; and Seven Sisters Abbey Ale.

And for those of you sharing our "bring on the beach!" tropical mindset: welcome Florida's beautiful weather back with St. Johns' flagship beer: Tropical Mango Pale Ale. This one-of-a-kind subtle light malt celebrates the flavor of the Caribbean with notes of mango fruit essence and both a start and a finish yielding just the right balance of hops.
Wines: "Hola!" and "Bon Jour!"
While the tough guys are self-abusing in Belgium, potential Giro D'Italia and Tour of California contenders will be honing their form in a series of stage races occurring in France and Spain. These multi-day events include the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and the Vuelta Ciclista a Aragon in Spain, and the Circuit de la Sarthe in France. In honor of these great races, say "hello" to some wonderful wines from those regions.

Tapena,  Garnacha
A terrific food wine, Tapeņa Garnacha, (gar-NA-chah), is spicy and seductive, with a lovely garnet color and lingering flavors. Its brilliant violet hue and seductive nose whisper 'try me, now' and, in the mouth, there is a rush of dark fruit with an underlying bright spice, including hints of rosemary, thyme and just a trace of sage. As the wine opens on the palate there is an intense minerality. Tapeņa Garnacha is full- bodied, but still lively, with rounded tannins which combine with the fruit to produce a velvet finish. Nice!

Spanish Quarter, Cabernet-Tempranillo
This full, silky red marries the noble and native Spanish red grape varietal Tempranillo with internationally recognized, yet relative newcomer to Spain, Cabernet Sauvignon. The resulting blend is a deep purple-red color with a nose of dark cherry and blackberry, and hint of exotic spice and chocolate. The full and silky palate reveals layers of juicy ripe berry fruit, dark chocolate, and a touch of sweet oak on the finish.

From France we'll be featuring Château de la Chaize and Chateau Greysac.
Earth Day at B3:
From B3's origins, taking care of the Earth has been an essential earth day clip artpart of how we do business.  Did you know the green 3 in our logo is a nod to the big 3 R's of the Green Movement?  So, for us, every day is Earth Day, not just April 22nd.  From our compostable take-out supplies, sugarcane straws and using washable wares in-house, to offering discounts on refills for our resable B3 travel mug and being a member of Orlando's "Think Blue" program (which focuses on dumping waste water safely so to eliminate pollution in our waterways). B3 is working hard to continually up our earth-friendliness. We hope you're doing the same in your life as well.

Seasonal Drink & Treats!

almond joy

Because "sometimes you feel like a nut, and sometimes you don't", this month we're offering two tropical latte options, aptly named: the "Almond Joy" --with almond, coconut and chocolate syrups blended with espresso and milk; or the "Mounds" latte: coconut and chocolate syrups with espresso and milk.  As always, both options can be served hot or cold and caffeinated or decaffeinated.

Waffle of the Month: we decided to get funky with the waffle making this month by offering a Tropical Waffle: same delicious waffle base topped with fresh mango, coconut, and slivered almonds. Mmmm!

Seasonal Salad, Sandwich and Soup

mango
Keeping the tropical theme going, this month's Seasonal Salad is a hefty serving of field greens topped with strawberries, diced mango, pecans, red onion and fresh mozzarella. Balsamic dressing served on the side.

There is nothing particularly tropical about our Seasonal Sandwich, but it's still summery and refreshing:  rye bread with cream cheese, field greens, cucumbers, red onions, then dashed with dill and balsamic vinaigrette.

Our Seasonal Soup is French Onion.  Slices of sweet onion in a savory beef stock with onion, garlic and a touch of sugar and other spices.  Topped with croutons and provolone cheese.
