Happy 2nd B-day, B3!
Greetings!
Spring is here, although you'd never know it from the weather. (Stupid groundhog!!) But never fear, we're warming things up at B3 all on our own this month thanks to our new Jittery Joe's custom B3 coffee blend (50% Guatemala Oriflama and 50% Etiopia Sidamo), created in honor of B3's 2 year B-day. That's right! B3 turns 2-years old on March 11. And we wouldn't be here without the continued loyalty and friendship of our amazing customers. So, stop by and celebrate with us! We look forward to seeing you. |

March Beers: Are you a Hoppy Monster?
Of course, with St. Patrick's Day on deck this month, we had to bring in a Celtic ale that is sure to have you dancing a jig (depending on how many bottles you have, that is). So, get your Irish on this month with a swig of Harpoon Celtic Ale - a deep amber Irish red ale that is malty and complex. It has a moderate hop finish that, along with the generous amounts of malt, makes for a medium bodied, smooth, rich beer. We will also be featuring three beers from Mercury Brewing Ipswich Ale Collection out of Maine: the Original Ale (English Style Pale Ale), the Dark Ale (US Style Brown Ale) and the Imperial Pale Ale (IPA). These outstanding northeast micro-brews have won numerous awards and once you try one, we have no doubt you'll want to give them all a taste. We also have two Florida original brews, Orange Blossom Plisner (now part of our house beer list) and new this month from the gulf coast of Florida, Dundein Brewery's Piper's Pale Ale - voted "Best Florida Beer" 2003 by BFBC (Best Florida Beer Championship). This hoppy brew is made in honor of the "Ancient Instrument of War" and the Bag Piper who wields this musical weapon.
And now.... (drum roll, please)... B3's Big Beer of the Month Award goes to: Terrapin Brewery's Big Hoppy Monster Imperial Red Ale! This limited release seasonal series of truly unique brews is designed for extreme beer lovers! (roar!!) This mammoth imperial red ale leads with a tantalizing hop aroma that is quickly complemented by an enormous malt backbone, finished with a multitude of hoppy goodness. ... (Aww yea, we KNOW how you like that hoppy goodness!) With 8.75% ABV this is one big, strong, super tasty beer. |
Wines: From Italy to France We are featuring wines from two different countries this month in honor of two races. First up is Milan - San Remo ("the Spring classic"), which races cyclists between Milan and San Remo, Italy. It is the longest professional one-day race (held this year on Saturday, March 20th) at 294 kilometers and was first organized by the Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport in 1907. Our complimenting Italian wines are: Stellina di Notte, Pinot Grigio, (Friuli, Italy) Conti Contini Sangiovese, (Tuscany, Italy) Stellina di Notte, Chainti, (Italy) March Special: Italian Wine Tour ($10) Not sure which wine to try? How about a 2 oz. sample of each of all three at a fraction of the cost? Sample the tour and then pick your favorite and order a full pour. The second featured race this month is the 68th Paris-Nice (a.k.a. "The Race to the Sun"), a stage race of 17 teams of 8 riders charging toward the finish line (Mar 7-Mar 14). Made up of 1 prologue (time trial) and 7 stages; this event's total distance covers 1,288 kilometers (842 miles). Our French wines this month, include: Château de la Chaize Brouilly '03, (France) Chateau Greysac '04, Medoc, (France) Jade Mountain La Provencale -- Red Blend, (California) |
