| September Wines: Spain and the Vuelta
First held in 1935, the annual Tour of Spain, also known as the Vuelta a Espana, runs for three weeks in a changing route across Spain. The inaugural event saw 50 entrants face a 3,411 km (2,119 mi.) course over only 14 stages, averaging over 240km (149 mi.) per stage. It was inspired by the success of the Tours in France and Italy, and the boost they each brought to the circulations of their sponsoring newspapers. Juan Pujol of the daily Informaciones instigated the race to increase his circulation.
In honor of this great race, B3 is pouring several spectacular Spanish wines, including: Marques de Grinion, Summa, Spain- a delicious blend of Syrah, Cabernet and Petite Verdot with an elegant nose of pepper, clove and rich dark berries. It is packed with layers of sumptuous, wild red fruit backed by soft tannins and a great balanced finish.
Torres Coronas, Tempranillo, Spain- aromas of red and black berries, with vanilla and leather notes permeate this full, silky, well-structured wine. Don't forget: we're also serving pitchers of B3's wildly popular red wine sangria, served with fresh fruit. Olé!

| September Beers: Okay, so we're totally cheating!
Here's the thing: good beer from Spain is really hard to come by, so this month, we're cheating a bit (or, as we prefer to phrase it: "getting creative") by serving up a beer named after a famous mountain range in the Andalusia region of Spain? Okay, we know, we know. It's a total stretch. But just go with it. Stop by B3 this month and enjoy three featured beers from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company based out of Chico, California. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is considered the premier craft brewery in the United States with critics proclaiming their product "among the best brewed anywhere in the world." We'll be serving up the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA and Sierra Nevada Kellerweis Hefeweizen. We're also excited to be carrying our first Fall beer this month, the world famous Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale. This crisp, refreshing wheat ale has delightful aromatics and subtle spiced flavors with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. It's a true flavor sensation. We are also serving Lefthand Brewing's Sawtooth ESB and Milk Stout, both from the state of Colorado |
| B Creative Atist Open House
Saturday, September 12th at 7:30 PM Swing by and meet our newest B Creative artist, Angelo Cane, a self-taught abstract artist and degreed graphic designer, with a degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1987. Angelo's bold paintings are acrylics on canvas or board and Angelo says of his penchant for the abstract style: "I love the spontaneity of abstract art. Usually I don't go in with a plan other than knowing what color palette I want to use. I simply put paint on the canvas or board and start layering it until something takes shape. When I like the composition, color, mood and flow of the piece, I stop." Come check out Angelo's amazing work and listen to DJ OAM spin some mood-inspiring tunes. Check out Angelo's work at: his website.

Movie Night at B3! Featuring: "Overcoming"
Thursday, September 17th at 7:30PM
This is truly one of the best cycling films in decades! Danish filmmaker Tomas Gislason spent the 2005 cycling season, including the Tour de France, capturing the joys and sorrows; the triumphs and the disappointments; the dogged pursuit of endurance and the emotional highs and lows of the team members and directeur sportif Bjarne Riis, whose impact on the sport continues significantly after his career as a top cyclist.
The film, aptly titled "Overcoming", presents, in moving yet excruciating detail, the pain and glory that characterize one of the world's most popular sports. Not since Jorgen Leth's classic "The Hell of the North" has there been a film that so perfectly distills the rich essence of cycling into gripping, cathartic cinema. As usual, the movie is free and so is the popcorn. |

Seasonal Soup, Salad & Sandwich
Fall is in the air, but the summer heat is still lingering, so this month we're offering up a new Broccoli Cheese soup that perfectly balances hearty texture with a nice, light flavor. This vegetarian soup is a delicious, creamy blend of cheddar cheese and whole broccoli florets. The flavor is distinctly cheddar softened with light broccoli notes.
This is the last month to enjoy the wildly popular Seasonal Sandwich (fresh veggies and cheddar cheese drizzled with ranch dressing on rye bread) and Seasonal Salad (spinach, blueberries, blue cheese and pecans)! Get them while they last - we've got some hearty fall recipes ready for next month!
