Seasonal Soup & Drink: Celebrate Jen's Birthday!
Since June is Jen's birthday month, we've decided to celebrate by offering a couple of her favorite things. Our seasonal soup gives a nod to one of Jen's favorite types of ethnic cuisine: Indian. In that vein, we're offering a hearty vegetarian Masala Tomato Lentil-made with earthy brown lentils, mild red lentils, plump navy beans, three varieties of tomatoes, and a broth infused with onion, garlic, curry and ground pepper. Yum.
In a completely different direction, Jen is also all about a refreshing summer drink (you know, the kind that make you go: "gulp, gulp...ahhhhhhhh!"). That's why this month B3 is your destination for the most delicious Italian Sodas you'll ever taste in your life. Yummy flavors include Cherry, Raspberry, Watermelon, Orange, Vanilla and more. Try one today.

Greetings!
Okay, first things first: lets raise a collective "woo-hoo" in honor of the Orlando Magic-the NBA Eastern Conference Champions! It's been a great ride watching the boys get this far and all we can say is: get ready for your take down, Kobe. Cause its coming! Need a place to watch this historical playoff series go down? Well, Blue and white UNITE! We'll be gathered around the flat screen here at B3. Come join us.
That being said, there is quite a bit more happening at B3 this month that has us all riled up with excitement, like: Doorstep Delivery (now you can get your B3 favorites delivered right to your door); the return of our Retro Saturday Morning Cartoon Festival; and a special gift for all of you fantastic fathers out there. Plus, of course, some sensational seasonal offerings (seriously, our Italian Sodas will rock your world) and a solid line up of "B Seen" events.
So, keep reading for all of the rousing details!

June Beers Get a taste of "Brotherly Love"
June 7,
2009 marks the 25th running of the Philadelphia International
Championship. This 156-mile classic remains the longest running and most
important single-day cycling road race in the United States. The cyclists
complete 10 laps of a 14.4-mile circuit that links the majestic Benjamin Franklin Parkway
with the trendy hillside community of Manayunk (site of the legendary
Manayunk Wall, a steep half-mile cruncher that has become a Philadelphia icon and favorite spot for race
watchers). The pros will finish with three laps of Lemon Hill
and Logan Circle,
having logged 156 miles total in one of the biggest sporting events in the
country.
This
month we're nursing our Philadelphia Fever with the help of two great Pennsylvania breweries,
located not far from the race, Stoudt's
Brewing Company and Erie
Brewing Company. These two micro-breweries pride
themselves on their hand-crafted, small batch beers. So stop in and try a Railbender American Ale, Misery Bay India
Pale Ale, Mad Anthony's American Pale Ale, Ol'Red Scotish Ale or
Stoudt's Triple Abbey
Ale (these last two are over 9% ABV).

French & Italian Wines
Since Philly isn't exactly known as a hotbed of fab wineries, our pours this month pay homage to several smaller stage races across Europe during the month of June. The races enable riders to fine tune their form for an epic showdown at the Tour de France in July. Our wine picks this month showcase countries hosting some of these smaller races (such as the Dauphine Libere in France and the Giro del Trentino Alto Adige in Italy). From France, try the tasty Chateau de Montfort, Vouvray; Chateau Duplessy, Bordeaux; and Chateu Greysac, Bordeaux. From Italy: Stellina di Notte, Pinot Grigio; Stellina di Notte, Chainti; and Capezzana "Barco Reale".

Movie Night at B3!
Featuring: "DETOUR DE FRANCE"
Thursday, June 25th at 7:30PM
Need a
little warm-up for next month's Tour De France? (Which we'll be watching live
at B3, by the way) This entertaining documentary is an enjoyable alternative to
the typical hard-edged Tour de France documentaries (i.e. "Hell on Wheels" and
"Overcoming"). In "Detour de France", a group of Australians trek to France in 2005
to cover the cycling event while engaging in much fun (and much drinking) along
the way. Laced with amusing commentary
from the trio (including Denis Donohue), this film is sharply directed by Dan
Jones. It also features surprising interviews with Lance Armstrong, Ron Howard
(in Paris
filming The Da Vinci Code), Sheryl Crow, and John Kerry (we know...how random,
right?). Also noteworthy is the trio's excursion to Moulin Rouge (with some rare
glimpses inside this legendary variety event). You definitely do not have to be
a cycling fan to be won over by this fun film. As usual, the movie is free and so is the popcorn |

Live Music: Roger Docking
Saturday, June 27th at 7:30PM

This month we are excited to bring in Roger Docking, an
Orlando based
singer/songwriter who is attempting to quietly change the way
audiences experience live music. (Intrigued? So were we!) Roger introduces a
fresh, new concept called "Quiet is the New Loud" which
removes barriers between audience and artist. He uses
no microphones, no cables, and no amplification. His
original music is rooted in catchy hooks and dusted with a layer of powerful
vocals. For a sneak peek of Roger's music, check him out on FaceBook. | |
