New Seasonal
Salad and Sandwich

We are changing our seasonal salad and sandwich this month!

The new salad was created by Emily (you see her behind the counter most days) and is made of field greens topped with fresh oranges, sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, dried cranberries and feta cheese.  A delicious mandarin-ginger dressing is served on the side.  We are calling it the Eastern Crunch Salad.

The new sandwich is a rendition of the classic BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich with a fun veggie twist.  The twist, of course, is that we'll be using veggie bacon and adding avocado.  Mmmmm!
  B-Come a Legend January Winner!

This month we congratulate Dano who was nominated by his fiance, Jessica.  To quote Jessica, "Dano is passionate about bikes, beer and food." Sounds just like B3 to us!  Dano's creation is called the "Retro Rye".  The "Retro Rye" is a tasty pressed sandwich built on rye bread with a 1/4 pound of sliced turkey, swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing, romaine lettuce and vine ripe tomatoes.

Thanks to everyone who submitted an entry - keep them coming!  Don't forget, you can email your entries to us at:bserved@bikesbeansandbordeaux.com!

Did you say Oatmeal?

Our hearty oatmeal has been a hit since we opened our doors back in March.  We decided to also offer a winter-time oatmeal to help warm you up on those cold winter days (not really here in Florida but let's pretend).  We combined some of our favorite ingredients for this tasty recipe you soon won't forget.  Hot oatmeal is topped with sliced almonds, dried cranberries, raisins, granola, brown sugar, cinnamon and honey.  Come by and try some before it's gone!

Live Acoustic Music: Friday, January 2nd and 9th at 7:30 PM

Music soothes the soul and we could not think of a better way to start off 2009 than with two weekends of wonderful acoustic music.  On January 2nd Daniel Hunter will be singing a medley of songs from many artists including Queen, Eric Clapton, The Foo Fighters and more.  All that talent is going to good use as Daniel is using this event for fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program for this month's Walt Disney World Marathon.

The following weekend, on Friday January 9th, Colleen Wilson will be playing an acoustic set.  Colleen lived Orlando for years before moving out to Austin, Texas to work with the Lance Armstrong Foundation. We are excited to feature her while she is in town!

Come early for both shows and get a good seat.

New Artist for January and February
Open House and DJ:
January 10th at 7:30 PM

Rustin Robinson has been referred to as an "artist" most of his life, but didn't consider pursuing it as a career until college.  plum carzy - rustin paintingHe attended USF as a Fine Art major and Ringling School of Art and Design for Illustration.  Prior to graduating, he moved to New Orleans and worked under the artist David Harouni.  He ran one of his galleries until hurricane Katrina brought him back to Orlando.

A few months after evacuating back to Orlando, he purchased a bicycle and absolutely fell in love with it!  Believe it or not, some of the first cyclists that he met in Orlando were Jen and Darrell (who were at the UCF game at UF tailgating in a parking lot).  He enjoyed it so much that he soon started working for a local bike shop while continuing to pursue his art.

Come meet Rustin and see his beautiful work on Saturday,  January 10th at 7:30 PM.
Tour Down Under brings in Australian Wine and Beer

The Tour Down Under:  In 1997, the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) began detailed research into a proposed major road cycling race for Australia. The resulting six day event, staged in South Australia from January 19-24 1999, captivated and motivated spectators. In every city and tiny town en route, the Tour Down Under attracted the same exalted level of involvement and excitement as the very event it was modeled on - the Tour de France.

party pic b3Since then, the Tour Down Under has grown in leaps and bounds each year, with world-class teams and riders competing on the streets of South Australia in a bid to win the Ochre Leaders Jersey. The Tour Down Under is now the first stop in world cycling each year. The Tour Down Under is also the first Stage Race for Lance Armstrong in his return to cycling.

To celebrate this event, we feature Australia's most famous beer, Foster's.  We'll also have Archtype's Shiraz, Green Point's Pinot Noir Rose and New Harbor's Sauvignon Blanc.
Movie Night at B3!
Featuring: "The Flying Scotsman"
Thursday, January 15th at 7:30 PM

flying scotsmanWe start 2009 off with a movie that has something for everyone, The Flying Scotsman.  This is the inspirational story of Graeme Obree (Jonny Lee Miller), an out-of-work amateur cyclist, who designs and builds his own bike from washing machine parts and other scraps. His dedication pays off as he breaks the "World Hour Record" to become a cycling hero. And although personal tragedy and professional setbacks threaten his success, he never loses sight of his dream. Laura Fraser and Billy Boyd co-star in this inspiring true story of one man's unwavering determination to win.

As usual, the movie is free and so is the popcorn!
