The Annual Fall Reception, East Meets Westwood, was a huge success! This event was held on Saturday, September 10th. There was plenty of food and fellowship, as well as beautiful decorations and wide selection of wine. Not only did 100+ parents and staff attend the event, but we also filled around 50 positions for future PBC events! The high school students raised around $400 with their child care fundraiser.
Donna Morgan and Catherine Mohan would like to thank all of the parents and staff who helped with this event. We had more helpers than ever before and each of you is appreciated! Congratulations to the Fall Reception drawing prize winners: Joel Hopkins - Jewelry Set by Pink Panache Robin Sarma - Cowboys Tickets |

Who says you have to travel to Vegas for a fun night of casino action?
Make plans to attend the Westwood Fall Fling on November 11th and enjoy your favorite casino games as you compete for fabulous prizes.
This year, the Fall Fling will be held at the Crowne Plaza on Midway - right across the street from the high school. Bid on exciting trips, great restaurant meals and even get a little of your holiday shopping done- then step into the casino for a night of fun!
The 2011 Fling is shaping up to be the biggest, most exciting auction in Westwood history - so don't miss out. |

This year, we are doing Class Projects a little differently for the auction. Instead of doing craft projects for each individual class, we are combining the classrooms by level and planning a themed trip.
Each grade level will come up with an idea for a trip, then work together to assemble all the parts. It can be anything from a romantic getaway to New York for two, a family trip for four to Disney or a weekend getaway in San Antonio. The more creative, the better! We need to first determine what resources we have available in each level. Do you have airline miles you would be willing to donate? How about hotel points? Maybe a time share week at an exotic location or a lake house. Of course, you can always just make a cash contribution to buy all the little things that go along with a trip - travel guide, luggage, gas, etc. Nothing is too small - we want to get everyone involved. Please contact your room parents with any help you may have.

The remaining schedule for the year is below. We've decided to do a few less this year and rotate nights of the week so that hopefully more of you will be able to make it! I will be sending out an invitation soon. We have some fun and different things planned.

Have a Minute? Then volunteer at Westwood! Everyone is encouraged to volunteer. There are many opportunities both small and large to be involved in the Westwood community. Some of these opportunities include writing thank-you notes to donors to the annual auction, working a shift in the Spirit Store, and volunteering at the Auction. This is a great way to make new friends and meet the parents of your children's friends.
