Greetings!  Harold Town

Let's go 2012 -- we are all set at Ingram Gallery for a new year of great art.  Our complete 2012 exhibition schedule is now online.  Our website has also seen the new addition of a direct link to browse our historical Canadian art collection

Ingram's south gallery is renowned for its unparalleled calibre and great names in Canadian art; from the Group of Seven through to mid-century abstraction by members of Painters Eleven (Ontario) and Les Automatistes (Qubec).  The new south gallery pages will see regular updates, reflecting key new works in to the gallery. We welcome your feedback and requests -- please let us know what you might be looking for.

Sean Yelland

January 2012

A new year has seen the arrival of new works to the gallery from several studios across Canada.  We have four canvases in fresh from Travis Shilling and well as a strong collection of new mid and large scale works from Sean Yelland.  Our windows on Avenue Road are currently featuring a rotation of the new works in.  Paired with our installation of the remaining ceramic tile works of Ryan Price and a stellar new large scale work by Peter Mitchell -- a visit to the gallery in January will prove rewarding.

   Sean Yelland

This month is the last chance to catch Sean Yelland at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).  Short-listed for the Kingston Prize, Yelland is featured in The Institute for Contemporary Culture's exhibition of 30 finalists presented at the ROM until January 29th.  Yelland's portrait of Flo (32 x 28 inches, oil on canvas) is featured on the cover of the exhibition catalogue.  We have copies available at the gallery.

"We are very pleased with the high quality and depth of this year's submissions," says Julian Brown, Co-Founder of the Kingston Prize. "The purpose of our jury is to select winners based on those exact criteria - quality and depth. Selecting this year's winners was not easy, and on behalf of the Prize and Jury, we wish all the best to the talented artists who submitted their work."
Peter Mitchell
Congratulations also go out to Peter Mitchell for his White Pine nomination in Non-Fiction for I.D.: Stuff That Happens to Define Us with Kate Scowen,  Annick Press (2010).

Pausing in appreciation of this new year and all of you... Thank you!!  We look forward to seeing you & all that 2012 has ahead.

With best wishes,
Tarah
