Two Trinity households that we know of have lost their homes. Trinity Church seems to be in good condition, but Paul Grizzle has been inside and reports that the nave had about six to eight inches of rising water and our Sealy Altar Window has been damaged.
Architect Joe Oppermann, structural engineer Pat Sparks, and stained glass studio head Jim Hauser are preparing to come to Galveston to assist us. Church Insurance Corporation is dispatching two representatives to the diocese tomorrow.
According to initial reports I have received, Grace Church, St. Augustine's, St. Vincent's, and William Temple came through the storm with very little damage. I want to encourage everyone to stay in touch and stay out of Galveston until public officials tell us it is safe to return. First responders and emergency personnel don't need us in the way.
Faithfully yours,
