We have openings in the following positions:
 
Help with the Welcome Table in the Narthex. 
The E-Team needs friendly folks to assist at the welcome table in the Narthex where members and visitors get name badges and information.
 

Tour Guides

are needed for Sundays and for tour groups by appointment during the week.  The more people out there helping us spread Trinity's story, the better!

 

Photographers are needed to take photos of new members and at events around the parish.  All you need is a digital camera and the memory to bring it with you.

 

Worship Leaders are needed to sustain our ministry of Evening Prayer  weekdays at 5:30 p.m. in the church.

Important note about the Prayer List At the end of each month, the Prayer List will become "blank."  With the assistance of the Daughters of the King, the Rector will establish a new list for ongoing prayers as well as a new current list.  If you have a request for either of the new lists, please communicate it to the rector at rpogue@trinitygalv.org or by phone by the end of each month.

Choir Begins Vacation
The Choir begins its summer vacation following Sunday's principal service.  Take a moment to let our choristers know how much their ministry means to us and wish them a safe and restful vacation.  They will return in September.
 

Bishop Don Wimberly Episcopal Visitation, June 8

The Rt. Rev. Don A. Wimberly, Bishop of Texas, will visit Trinity on Sunday, June 8.  We will present to him Wendy Darlington for Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows and Amy Neblett, Ben Chamberlain, Jennifer Kelso, and Betsy Smart for Reception into the Episcopal Church at the 10:30 a.m. service.  There will be a reception following that service for Bishop Wimberly and those who have received the laying on of hands.  He will also meet with the rector and vestry.

 
 
A. DoyleOrdination and Consecration of Coadjutor set for November 22  
 
The Ordination and Consecration of the Rev. Canon C. Andrew Doyle, Bishop Coadjutor-Elect of the Diocese of Texas, will be at 10:30 a.m. on November 22, 2008, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston.
 

Upon the retirement of Bishop Wimberly, he will become the ninth Bishop of Texas.  Your clergy and delegates were present for the election and ask your prayers for our new Bishop Coadjutor elect.  For additional details regarding the election, go to Diocese of Texas.  

 

Children's Christian Formation

Godly Play meets today at 10:15 a.m.  Children return to their families during the Peace.  Today's lesson is about the Bishop's Visit and Symbols of the Holy Eucharist.  July 6 -August 24, the Peterson family will sponsor Veggie Tales Hour at the usual Sunday School time. Enjoy popcorn, goldfish and juice spending time with Larry the Cucumber, Junior the Asparagus and Bob the Tomato.  We will need one or two parents each Sunday to sit with the children during the movie.  Diocesan policy requires us to have two-deep leadership in activities with children.  You must have taken the Safeguarding God's Children training. CONGRATS TO ALL OUR GRADUATING SENIORS! 

 

Graduating high school seniors: 

Alex Rice, Maggie Rice, Liddy Freeman, Walker Dearman, Maggie Dean, Margaret Wheeler, Ben Dannenmaier were recognized on Sunday, May 25, at the 10:30 a.m. service.  Each graduate received a personal copy of The Book of Common Prayer and a reception was held in their honor following the service.

ECW ButterflyECW calls for meals
The Martha Group is co-ordinating our keeping the Pogues fed while Gay recovers from her June 12 surgery. We will provide meals beginning June 19th and continuing for at least 2 weeks. To indicate your willingmness to help as well as to learn more about their food needs/likes and dislikes and to pick your date(s) on the schedule, please call Anne Browne (409-457-9634) or email her (momqat@hotmail.com).

By wearing your Trinity lapel pin, you invite others to ask about its significance, thereby providing a natural opportunity to speak about your church and its meaning for your life.  If you do not own a lapel pin, you may purchase one at a cost of $5 in the parish office.  The pin displays the arms of Trinity Church, the same as our banner.

Digital Imaging Institute

Our first-ever TES Summer Digital Imaging Institute will be held June 23 - 27.  We have been accepting applications from Trinity Episcopal School students (rising grades 6-8) and graduates, and we may have room for some parents and other adults from Trinity parish as well.  The program runs the course of 5 days and will meet from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM each day.  If you are interested in committing a week to in-depth learning of digital imaging techniques using Photoshop Elements 6, please call Father Dearman at the school office 765-9391.  The total cost of the Institute is $150 ($50 deposit due with the application and the balance due by June 1).  Please check the school website, www.tesgalv.org, for more information.  Applications are available on-line and at the school office in Moody Hall.

Fathers Day, June 15
Fathers will be recognized during the services on June 15.  Each father present will receive a special bookmark and prayers will be offered.

Trinity Family Cookout June 29Cook Out
Join us for a hamburger and hot dog cookout on June 29th after the 10:30 service.  Hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided.  Please bring your favorite side dish or desert.

 
The Adult Sunday School Class
The Adult Sunday School Class, meeting in Rosenberg Parlor on Sundays at 9:15 a.m., is  studying the Sunday scriptures throughout the summer months.  Class leadership will be shared by members.
 

ERD Logo 
ERD Continues to support relief efforts in China and Myanmar.  For details, go to
Episcopal Relief & Development.  Contributions designated for ERD and any of their specific projects may be made through Trinity Church.
