From the Rector

Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week for Christians in most parts of the world. During this week, we are called into a very intimate relationship with our Savior as we walk with him once more along the painful steps of his Passion.
On Palm Sunday, we are reminded of his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem and hear the entire Passion story read.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we gather in the Chapel for Noonday Prayers and read the Gospel for each of those days, recounting specific incidents in Jesus' last week before the Crucifixion.
On Maunday Thursday we have the foot washing and celebrate the institution of the Holy Eucharist.
Good Friday is focused upon the cross and the Savior's death upon it. At the setting of the sun on Holy Saturday, we gather at the Columbarium for the Lighting of the New Fire and process into the nave for the Great Vigil of Easter and Baptisms.
Easter, of course, is the central and most holy feast day of the entire Christian year, when we celebrate our Lord's passing over from death to life and all that means for our redemption.
I realize that many of you will be out of town during Holy Week because it is also Spring Break for our schools. Please remember that our attendance at the services of Holy Week and Easter is still an essential ingredient in our faith journey. Wherever you may be this week, find a community of Christians with whom to share the journey! Read the morning paper if you need to be reminded how important it is for Christians to celebrate these disciplines.
I'll see you in church!

Collect
Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Help Wanted!
We have openings in the following positions:
Tour Guides are needed for Sundays and for tour groups by appointment during the week. We want to be able to provide tours every Sunday and to respond positively to the increasing number of requests from groups. The more people out there helping us spread Trinity's story, the better!
Photographers are needed to take photos of new members and at events around the parish. All you need is a digital camera and the memory to bring it with you.
Worship Leaders are needed to sustain our ministry of Evening Prayer every weekday at 5:30 p.m. in the church.
If you are able to assist in any of these ways, please let us know by sending a message toinfo@trinitygalv.org. |

Name Badges
This month, the "E Team" at Trinity is distributing name badges for every member of the parish on Sunday mornings. If we have a name badge for you already, it will be set out on a table for you to pick up and keep. If you do not have one, there will be request forms on the table for you to fill out and turn in so it will be ready for you to pick up the following Sunday. When the process is complete, each member will bring your name badge with you whenever you are coming to worship or a function at Trinity. Since many of us will forget to bring our name badge from time to time, we will always have a supply of peel and stick name badges and marker pens on hand at a table near the entrance to the church or Eaton Hall. The E Team hopes the use of name badges will increase our fellowship and help build relationships. |
Advance the Mission & Balance the Budget - 2008 Easter Offering
