| Catalyze Community Update |
January 3, 2008 |
|
Greetings!
Happy New Year from the Catalyze community and thank you again for your membership and participation. This is my first update for 2008 and I will continue to send out updates on a bi-weekly basis.
As I write this, we are nearing an exciting milestone for Catalyze - 2,500 members. We have wildly exceeded our initial growth estimates since we launched in June 2007 and look forward to doubling in size by the end of 2008.
In addition, we had almost 38,000 visitors to Catalyze in 2007 who viewed more than 178,000 pages - and the average visitor stayed on the site for nearly 5 minutes and viewed almost 5 pages per visit.
Keep encouraging your friends and colleagues to check out Catalyze.

| Catalyze Webcast with Linda Yaven - Thursday, January 10th |
|
| Our first Catalyze webcast of 2008 will be held on Thursday, January 10 at 11am PST/2pm EST. Design Thinking Catalyst Linda Yaven will give a presentation titled "You, Me and Pictures: A Snapshot of Making Thinking Visible" which links emergent methods of documentation to sustaining and renewing people.
Linda is an Associate Professor at California College of the Arts, San Francisco teaching Effective Communication in the MBA Design Strategy Program. More on Linda and her work is available from her website - www.lindayaven. com.
You can sign up for the webcast from the Catalyze homepage or at this link. If you miss the webcast, we will record it and post to Catalyze by January 14th. |

Look for some new design features in Catalyze starting early next week. We are taking some interim steps to improve how members view and interact with our homepage and other key pages. More changes and upgrades to the platform will be planned for later in the first quarter of 2008 - stay tuned for additional updates.
Please send us your feedback once you've had a chance to see the new design. |

Catalyze LinkedIn and Facebook Groups

Expand your Network with LinkedIn and Facebook
LinkedIn To expand the Catalyze brand and to facilitate networking, we have created a special Catalyze LinkedIn group. Simply click this link t o confirm your membership in the LinkedIn Catalyze group (note, you need to use the same email address used to join Catalyze or you will be added to the pending approval list which generally clears in less than 24 hours). More than 25% of all Catalyze members have already joined the LinkedIn group.
Facebook In addition to LinkedIn and to provide access in a different channel, we have set up a Catalyze Facebook group. The Catalyze Facebook Group is an open group - anyone can join and invite others to join, and anyone can see the group information, the discussion board, the wall, videos, photos, and posted items. About 10% of Catalyze members have joined the Facebook group.
Join both groups to double your networking potential and ways to interact with Catalyze. |
There's one more thing you can do. Please bookmark Catalyze on del.icio.us by using the link in the middle of the left navigation area. More than 300 people have already tagged Catalyze and I would love to increase that number substantially.
Thank you checking out Catalyze again - and for helping us become the number one destination community for business analysts and usability professionals. We looking forward to more members and interactions in 2008.
Finally, please contact me if you have any questions or comments about the community - this is your community and we want to make it the best we can.
Sincerely,
Tom Humbarger, Community Manager Catalyze Community
