The Laws of Stewardship are rooted in the immovable ground of God's promises. They are sure and certain, truths that we can count on. They are the absolutely positive teaching of Jesus, such as the Law of Guaranteed Return that He stated like this: "Give, and it will be given to you," He said, "a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." [Luke 6:38].

The purpose behind this promise is that we be motivated to give because it's a sensible investment. Spiritually speaking, there's virtually no risk but all reward. Any gift given for God's glory is backed by the infinite resources of the Bank of Heaven. There is no doubt about it, no cause for concern, no conditions under which the return is held back or held up. It will come.

"The Damage of a Dual Confession"

Proverbs 6:2 (KJV)
"Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth."

Pastor Tommy 2009
This weeks devotional addresses a much needed teaching on the curse of having a dual profession
that in most cases goes undetected by the average Christian. I hope you will be honest with yourself as we endeavor to disclose some truths from God's Word that are meant to help you mature in Christ,
rather than diminish you in your spiritual walk. This subject which we will be focused on is one that has alluded the most advanced Christians of our day because it is very seldom noticed. What do I mean by this? There is a "sense knowledge" to all of us that has been filing away information for years as we experience things in this life that forces their identity upon us. These experiences that I am referring to are simply those personal hurts, pains, sicknesses, financial woes, ruined relationships, and the many other negative impartations that we have all had to walk through.

This "sense knowledge" is the strong mental references of the past which we use to decipher what is happening at present. In other words, a particular sickness writes, or records within our hearts, every symptom and familiar pain that is associated with that illness. Therefore, that image is easily spoken and testified to when those same familiar pains afflict our bodies physically. We can't help but talk about them. They reinforce and strengthen that sickness or illness so that it remains intact even though the Word of God would say otherwise. We believe strongly in what is presently happening to us, rather than believing through faith for what we want to happen based on God's Word. In example to this: if you have a headache, you reach for the aspirin instead of God's Word. If you were dealing with a financial collapse, you reached for the answer in a loan, theft, or some other self-preservation of means, instead of believing on God's Word.

I was truly amazed to learn within in my own life just how much I violated the Word of God in any given day. I would speak against the Bible that I professed to believe in without realizing it, only to repeat the many references of experiences that I had collected in my "sense knowledge," and when I did, they would always nullify God's Word from manifesting in my life. The reason is because you can't agree with two opposites. In other words, you can't say you believe the Father is a God that promises to supply all your needs, and then turn right around and
communicate outwardly through a spirit of fear or panic, "What am I going to do, I can't pay my rent this month!" That expression or confession comes from the abundance of a heart that is disagreeing with God's Word, which is the deepest perception that we have in us that always speaks the clearest on how we see things. Let's take a look at what God's Word says along these lines, so that you don't think I am just suggesting some psychological techniques to you.

James 1:5-8 (KJV)
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways

In Proverbs it said we are "snared" and "taken" by the words of our mouth. To become snared, you will have entered into a trap which is is there to bring you into bondage. Once you are captive, then you become a slave. This is the power of what our words contain, and we must not ever over look this truth. They bring forth life, or they deliver the sting of death. No in between, or gray areas. Life or death, period! Our world has successfully trained us in the confessions of wrong, of failures, of weakness, of sin, of sickness. Therefore, it will take a great deal discipline and the renewal of our mind through the Word of God to remedy this dual confession that we as Christians are constantly developing ourselves in. We are worse off than the non-believer when we develop a belief in Christianity by adding its knowledge, but speak more frequently and expressively from the position of our "sense knowledge." It is from the abundance of the heart that a man speaks what he really believes.

God's Word teaches that any man who wavers in his asking of anything from God: is a man who speaks in contradiction to the "Truth" within that particular area that the Word is declaring a promise exists; and the man that does this should not think for a moment that he will receive anything from God. Why? Because that man is double minded in all his ways, and the Scriptures reveal that sowing and reaping is the principle thing of life. The man that does this has a dual confession. He believes the present elements of this world to be a truer reality of how life is, be it negative or positive in nature; whereas, on the other hand, he also develops a philosophy of what God's Word teaches and adds it to his knowledge base of things to know. Unfortunately, reality
always expresses itself much stronger than a philosophy will. Why? Because reality is perceived to be how it is; it is our moment or now which is believed to be unchangeable. Philosophy on the other hand, is nothing more than a search for wisdom or knowledge; a theory or logical analysis of the principles underlying, conduct, thought, knowledge, and the nature of the universe. The Word of God should be the reality of life for all of us who are born again Christians. Sadly though, this present world and its limitations become our perceived reality even though we boast in being a Christian.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (KJV)
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need

Jesus Christ our Lord, who gave us all things in Himself should
remain our constant profession, and His Word should be our daily reality. Scriptures teach us that, "We should not look on the things that can be seen, but on the things that cannot be seen; for the things that can be seen are temporal, but the things that cannot be seen are eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18). In other words, it is God's Word that speaks in that realm that produces what may at the moment look like it doesn't exist at all, but the eyes of faith which comes by hearing the Word have the ability to trust that what God says is there and can be counted on. If Jesus is the Author and finisher of our faith than we ought to let faith talk to us. Faith will never tell you to stay in the boat. Faith is standing out in the midst of the sea calling for you to come out of your perceived place of safety and walk on the water. If sickness is holding you at present physically, your faith that breathes and has its being from God's Word will be calling you from a position of health to come out and declare that it is so!

Our confession should be centered around four main things that God did for you and me: (1) What God in Christ did for us. (2) What God and the Holy Spirit through the Word confirms in us. (3) What we are to the Father relationally because of what Christ did for us. (4) What the Word will do when it is in our mouth and allowed to speak without doubting. Many may not realize that Christianity is called: "The Great Confession." No matter where you look within the Scriptures you will discover that it is an instrument of divine inspiration to be communicated. In other words, it holds in possession, a language of supernatural abilities and power when it is spoken in faith from those who are one with it. There is nothing impossible to him that believes the Word of God in its entirety.

Our adversary the devil is never a match with all his arsenal at his disposal when he comes up against a believer that sees the Word of God as reality for his life. Faith can never grow beyond your confession. In order to be born again in Christ, a person must believe in his heart, and confess with his mouth in order for it to be a reality. We are instructed from the Word of God to speak to our mountains, not pray about them. Everything that exists whether in heaven or earth came through the vocal expressions of thought. For instance: God looked at the voidness of the elements before Him and spoke them into existence and they came forth. Wars have never unfolded to be the atrocities that they became
except some leader in authority who spoke through their intent to rule over another nation was declared outwardly. Relationships have never fallen apart without someone communicating failure into it. As you can see by these few examples, there is nothing that exists that has not been communicated. Therefore, learning to communicate on the level of a child of God is paramount for the right kind of results to appear.

We know too well that this world, is a fallen world, that has been defaced with sin and all of it's diabolical infections which we so often witness all around us. Therefore, this world groans in its pains for the true sons of God to be manifested. These true sons of God have a voice of transformation that do not speak by what they see, but rather by the voice of faith in them that believes what the Word of God declares. You can't overcome the devil without the blood of the Lamb, ever; and you can't dominate the devil without the word of your testimony (Rev. 12:11). Again, let me say this once more at this point. Faith never grows beyond your confession. Faith is a divine "sight" that becomes clearer with every time that it hears the Word of God spoken. On the contrary, less of the Word, the more obscured is your ability to see, and therefore, you will more likely speak in contradiction to the truth. The Scriptures teach us that nothing can separate us from the love of God no matter what it is. So, if anyone has fallen as I have in this damaging cycle of a undetected dual confessions; there is hope for you, if we will only be teachable and realize this truth by which we are speaking on. Are we unable to do this?

Romans 8:37 (KJV)
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us

It was not our plan to be in the image of His Son. It was His own desire and will for you and me to become like Him. Therefore, we were in the Father's mind all along for good and not for evil. In addition, we can never be a conqueror unless we confess that we are a conqueror. A wrong confession, is the confession of defeat. In this way, a believer who confesses his sins and weaknesses on a regular basis is building sin and weakness into his conscience and his spirit will react to it. Every sin and weakness, once they are confessed to the Lord, should never be confessed again; because it is as if they never existed to God, and you should believe this without hesitation yourself. The Word of God is a seed. The words that you speak, they are seeds too. When seeds fall on the ground they produce depending on the type of soil that they land on. The Bible speaks about several types of soil in the gospel of Luke that I want to close with.

Luke 8:5-8 (KJV)
5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear

Luke 8:11 (KJV)
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God

As you can see from the passages that we have just read, that the soil is predetermined by the different individuals to which the divine seed would be offered. The seed that fell on the way side are those which have it stolen from them by the devil for their lack of interest in it, and will essentially, speak more inline with their "sense knowledge," which will ultimately nullify the seed from growing up in them. The second soil represented in this parable is the rocky ground. These receive the seed or word with great joy, but because they have no root, the enemy brings great difficulties in their path and they give up on it and begin speaking from their "sense knowledge." Our third soil, is filled with thorns. Therefore, when the seed or word falls here, it is choked out by the cares, riches, and the pleasures of this life which keeps them from bearing fruit in perfection, so as to get the right kind of results. Why is this? Because the cares of this world, the striving for things, and the quest for pleasures will dictate to how they talk. Words manifest in the form of what is sown.

We must get a divine revelation of just how this dual confession is working against us and must be eradicated from our lives. Only through being led by the Holy Ghost is this possible. If we don't, then we will definitely live well beneath our privileges in God. Therefore, all of the born again people of God begin through developing and perfecting this second voice by which they are learning to speak from. Why do I say this? Because you have been living by your "sense knowledge" up to the point that you are introduced to who you are in Christ as a child of God. Here is where you start learning a new language to live by which is through the Word; but early on we struggle trying to shut down the voice of reason and logic because it seems to be more real to us for now.

Thankfully, the maturity of walking by faith every day and not by sight will eventually erode our "sense knowledge" from being the reliable source from which we draw from. If we don't, then we will believe on our natural knowledge and it will prevail over the Word of God concerning us, even though we confess Christ as our Lord. In this fashion, the thing that is most deeply believed inside your heart is the things that you will reference or speak from, whether it's from the collection of "sense knowledge," or the Word of God. We must eliminate all references to our first nature [the old man] and its natural language of death, that we may obtain the limitless nature of Christ in us, so that we may
speak the Words of Truth and produce the evidence of the abundant life which our Lord came to give. You can't afford to hold on to two confessions, for the one you will serve much more faithfully than you will to the other.

In other words, you will draw from the wells of "sense knowledge" much more faithfully because it is the easiest to see now. It is simply already here at work in the present through the many applications, and it holds a greater belief in you because of the many times you have seen this happen before. It is predictable, and much more reasonably understood as being the laws of physics and what has always physically been according to what men have seen. Faith on the other hand, talks through the believer in witness to the things that God has already done and set on record within His Word which cannot lie, though the "sense knowledge" in us may want to speak, it can't in the disciplined saint. Why? It is because you have limited the voice of death and curses from your life by putting off the old man and his speech. It is because you have been born again in your nature and understand that the "old you" has now been put to rest, and all things now have become new. Therefore, your meditations are on the Word of God and they are transforming your very image into the image of that One which you have been called! Glory to our King! We are more than conquerors! We can do all things through Christ which is in us! Bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ in you, for they truly will be the vocal expressions that you will utter out loud. Can you afford to live with what you are speaking outwardly? You can if its the Word of God.
