"The Difference between Holding a Position and Possessing its Power"

Our devotion for this week deals with an all important topic that every believer should give their full attention to study with all diligence. There are numerous positions throughout the entire planet and each one of them is ordained by God to be representative of His authority for good for all people. If we look into the Word of God we will find that God has given gifts to man in order that we may be a blessing to one another. God's equality to disperse to each person some kind of gift or gifts mandates the importance and the significance He places on every individual. In God's eyes there is no one person that He is willing to let perish or give up on for all are unique and special to Him. With that being said, we must also understand that there are many who will unfortunately despise themselves to condemnation by simply abusing what God has gifted within them and using it for a vain and personal glory. Every believer according to Scripture has received the divine nature from his or her Creator that enables them to have power to invoke privileges and promised favor that only a child of God can obtain or use because of the Seed of Christ in them. However, even though we hold these many kinds of positions of delegated authority there is too little understanding in how we are to function in these offices effectively and appropriately. So I will endeavor to cast some light on this needful subject for all of us that call ourselves believers in Jesus Christ. I titled this devotion, "The Difference between Holding a Position and Possessing its Power" because there is an obvious difference between the two. We are learning a great deal about our position in Jesus Christ which is paramount to say the least; however, if we are to grow into our correct nature in God we must learn just as equally important what to do as we sit in these ordained positions. There are positions in every level of government, whether that country is governed from the freedoms of democracy or the evils of tyranny. God's initial design and purpose for every authority is one that serves for the good of all. God calls all positions of authority His workmanship. Look with me in Romans and let's validate this based from God's Word and not from my personal writings.

My Prayer For Today...
My dearest friend and Father: I am so glad of your caring love for me that far exceeds the safety of what I could provide for myself. It is a foolish thing for a man to resolve that he can predict his own future without the counsel of his Creator. My heart rests in this very fact that what you have begun in me that is surely what I shall become when You have called it done. We are sons and daughters of hope who have placed our trust in You our God; where we shall never be disappointed. Ours is not one of philosophies of men that mortals have simply imagined and penned within their private journals. No! Ours is a reality that has been breathed into our souls by a true and living God. In our hearts you have ascribed your dictations of truths with a permanent marker. There is no erasing these holy words that encompasses the canvasses of our hearts. We will be read by many others abroad in this life and cause wonders to fill their hearts as they see the interactions of such a Holy and divine Spirit that would embrace such mortal beings as we. I listen and I hear Your wonderful sayings in the deepest parts of my soul. I break out with all sorts of emotions that burst like fireworks in the skies of my mind. Your Words place a mirror before my eyes that cause me to stand and look with amazement. For who was this man that I once saw myself to be? That now I have gone so far from being him to who I am in You my Lord. Fascinating and full of wonderments that I cannot fully grasp what they mean. Yet, I sing with gladness from deep within and know that my Father cares for me. Amen! |
