 "A Much Needed Revelation"
 Pastor Tommy
We have just come through one of the most exhausting and extraordinary elections of our time. Never in all history has there been a diversified group of candidates for the highest seat in America. We have witnessed a transitional shift that has changed the much embedded idea that America would ever consider the possibility of electing a woman or an African-American to the senior position to govern this great nation. But here we are in 2008 and we watched as history unfolded before our very eyes. In fact, the whole world was watching with great anticipation and with much celebration. Our country has just elected Barack Obama the first African American president of the United States of America. For those who placed their vote on President-elect Obama there was undoubtedly a joy that could only be admired as decades of racism and disenfranchisement of the African American people who on this day were resurrected to a never known place of respect and honor as Obama reached the highest position within this great nation. This election has just proved that there are no more legitimate excuses for any race to not reach their goals no matter what the opposition may consist of. To those who did not cast their vote for Obama, there is possibly the lingering bitterness that some are feeling that America has just chosen the wrong candidate. I have heard the tones of many people's voices already reveal that they are in great fear to what might happen to America. Let me remind you that the opposite side of any elected candidate always feels some remorse or anger when their choice didn't win. It's no different this time around even though this was a historical election to say the least. Whereas, I do believe the times are more volatile than we have ever known them to be, and will require strong leadership to charter us ahead to a better America. Therefore, I will appoint myself to pray for President-elect Obama for wisdom during his tenure as president of the United States.

Just like you I have witnessed scores of emails, sit-coms and You Tube videos flying across the internet throughout this election period that has painted both candidates as bad for the country. There have been many groups who exhibited such mean spirit gestures of hatred towards their opponent's camp. It all depends on which side you are on in how you observed the other candidate, and therefore, defined which virtual depictions you will believe about the other side all based on what the media and other outlets were promoting. I have read some of the emails that portrayed Obama as the anti-Christ and how he was really a Muslim in disguise and would eventually bring America to a place of destruction. Let me say something to my dear readers today in all fairness. President George H. Bush was supposedly a backer of the New World order as also his son, President George W. Bush. Now I don't know if this is really factual at all just as I don't know if the things spoken about Obama are either. Time always has a way of proving what things really are. However, my point is that every leader comes under scrutiny by its opponents whatever they are, and there has always been an array of attacks to deem outsiders as villains. On a religious scale there will always be those who are looking to tie some world leader to some Bible prophecy concerning the end-times. It seems there is this great temptation to portray leaders in this way by various religious philosophers. I honestly cannot say that I have not been influenced at some point by the things I have read and heard spoken about Obama. However, I have learned to step back and remove myself from such earthly and obnoxious noise so as to seek quietly God and His wisdom concerning the times and the leaders that are currently in place.

My Prayer For Today...

Dear Father!

It is my deepest prayer for this country to be healed and be unified through the love of Your Son Jesus. There is no other who has the power to bring stability and strength to this nation or the nations of this world except through Your leadership. Heal the scars of racism that continues to ravage and bleed the very life from our children around the world. Open our eyes that we may see with clarity the demise of our selfish and individualistic pursuance's which has no time for You or respect for others.

You alone stand to reign with righteousness like no other. Who can compare to Your authority in all the vastness abroad. I suspect there is no other since it was You that created all things. Take our mixed-up and different ideas, and reveal to us Your children the Way of Truth. We remember our leaders that serve the people of this country and those around the world. We hold them up to You that You alone may direct their decisions in such a way that Your people are blessed and free from the tragedies that will soon come to those who reject Your marvelous love.

You Lord alone are the peace that remains faithful through all time. It is at Your cross that we received our legal adoption papers. No longer are we that believe in You, wanderers and orphans without a home. We have a Father in You that will never abandon us nor cast us away. Thank You for this divine transformation that only You could have effectively pulled off in all the craziness of this world. I rejoice at the thought of my coming Lord. Yes I break out with singing with just the mention of Your name. Yet I will not forget those who have yet to be told of this wonderful love that You extended to all who would come home. Amen!
