Welcome to the latest update from Cube Precision Engineering.

We have been trading for 6 months now after starting business on the 5th January. We have grown from 6 staff to a total of 14 and this is set to rise over the next six months due demand from new customers, by the end of the year we expect to have 22 staff. The additions will be on the shop floor with toolmakers and fitters and expansion in our CNC machining capacity by opening up a night shift.

We are currently working on projects for A380, A350, BR725 in aerospace, Citroen, Peugeot, Jaguar-Land Rover and Ford in Automotive together with West Coast Mainline Trains in the Rail Industry.

CNC Machining correa in position
We specialise in bespoke CNC machining up to 5m x 3m. Our 10 CNC machines are programmed using Delcam's PowerMill software and sent directly to the machine via our Local Area Network.
We have automated tool changers on 5 of our machines which means we are ideally suited to low volume batch work, as well as bespoke work. In conjunction with our overhead lifting capacity of 35T, our Zayer milling machine has no limit on bed weight so we are able to provide a solution to even the heaviest projects! Four of our large CNC machines have 3 + 2 capability and our Correa FP 40 has an auto indexing head so we can machine in 5 axis too. All of the large machines can be fitted with our high speed head which was designed and made by ourselves in-house.

Press tooling, jigs and fixtures. bigger tool
We supply press tooling jigs and fixtures to a variety of industries. Recently completing projects for:

Rolls Royce BR725 programme,
Westland Helicopters Future Lynx,
The All new Honda Jazz,
As well as several projects for Bentley and Aston Martin.

We deal in RTM tools, progression tooling as well as transfer and single operation tools and all associated forming, welding and CMM fixtures.

In early May we were awarded ISO9001 at our first attempt, supported by Birmingham City University through funding from The Manufacturing Advisory Service we completed the project in 3 months - a record for both institutions. On 1st July we begin work on AS EN 9100 as part of our commitment to SC21. The project is due to be completed by Mid-August.

SC21 is a change programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defense industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defense industrial strategy, necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of our supply chains. At the same time, industry must ensure that it delivers competitive solutions for customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth.

We have also joined the GTMA who have access to new opportunities throughout industry and have fantastic links with other tooling suppliers.

New Staff Mark Tapp
We are pleased to welcome Mark Tapp to Cube Precision Engineering, he has 13 years experience in EDM, tooling, jigs and fixtures from a range of industries. Mark joins us as Technical Sales Representative and will focus on generating revenue from jigs and fixtures, CNC Machining as well as EDM work.
