Greetings! The month of May brings a new and fresh perspective to our lives, as flowers pop up everywhere and the grass is in a full and rapid growth stage. And for one family in Harrisburg, PA, May is bringing extraordinary changes to their everyday lives.... they were selected to have their home completely renovated by area companies who donate their time and materials. The 2009 Midstate Makeover home is now in full swing and progressing at an amazing speed. The project began last Friday, May 1, 2009, with WHTM-27 ABC filming live on the 6:00 PM News. The Stahle family left their home for one week, and know not what they will see this Friday, May 8 when they return to their home. The complete house is being renovated in one week's time. For the story, follow these links: http://cfc.whtm.com/videoondemand.cfm?id=39401http://cfc.whtm.com/videoondemand.cfm?id=39403http://cfc.whtm.com/videoondemand.cfm?id=39446http://cfc.whtm.com/videoondemand.cfm?id=39388FoxBuilt, a custom home builder in Harrisburg, is
partnering with ABC 27 news to renovate the Penbrook home from top to bottom. Just like the nationally televised Extreme Home Makeover, they only have one week to complete this project. The
Stahle family, the recipients, lost their dad in January 2009, leaving
the family with much debt and a house in need of a lot of repair.
FoxBuilt quickly fell in love with the family and is excited to get
started on this year's Midstate Makeover. While the story is sad, we hope to
create some joy for a family who is left with a big void in their
lives.
On a personal level, I'm so excited to be a part of this endeavor! I am "doing what I do"
-- adding a special plaster finish to the living room wall and the fireplace. I will be working
at the Penbrook home on Monday and Tuesday. MUCH is
taking place to change the entire home, and it's all done by
donation. It's so very cool and I'm honored to be a part
of it!
If you are within driving distance...take a drive and watch the progress or volunteer to be a part of the fun and excitement. You can contact John Fox of Foxbuilt at John Fox's email. It will
be a memorable experience for sure... and you might get on TV!
