--- Sue's Wall Finish ---
The above photo was taken in the stairwell going to the office/studio of my home. The walls are a seven layer plaster finish which takes on a weathered concrete look- customized to compliment the existing carpet in the stairwell and office and also coordinate with the decor and colors of the main level of my home.
The colors include a metallic bronze base coat, followed by layers of brick red and various tones of taupe and neutral plasters, all done in a vertical pattern. This renders an aged concrete appearance -- to look as though time has taken its toll on the wall and has brought out various properties of the "concrete".
This finish is a favorite of those who visit me. It's quite different... rustic with a masculine flair. Very cool!
To add interest to the landing of the stairwell, I refinished a plain white
tabletop column with complimentary color tones of the wall finish. It too has an aged look -- black and gold crackled top with worn silver,
gold and champagne effects on the main base of the column.
