A Few Days at the Beach!!

Greetings!

Recently I spent several days in Avalon, NJ working in a gorgeous beach house that sits right along the beach.  Details on the projects are below.  This was my first for staying in Avalon and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with it.  Just look at the view from the bedroom!!
longs beach view The beaches are beautiful with little pools of water scattered everywhere.  The dunes are wider than at the other beaches I've been to.  On my last morning there, I spent some time walking along beach wishing that I never had to leave!

One of the benefits of my career is that I get to leave my hometown area and go on "field trips" to work.  Some time ago, I spent the whole month of November in North Carolina finishing the walls in a new home for clients who were moving there.  I have clients that reside or have properties in DC, VA, NJ, MD, WV and FL.  It's not unusual for me to travel to Philadelphia, State College, West Chester, the Poconos and such to makeover and enhance hom
es.

Keep that in mind if you have a vacation or second home that needs some personalization. Should you know of a friend or family member that is looking for a "finisher", I'll travel anywhere in the US -- have them contact me!

The Featured Finish
All Work and No Play at the Beach!!

The Long's recently built this awesome beach home and when it was finished, the columns and stair railings were just too bland.  Since the living room boasted a limestone fireplace wall, Kathy wanted the columns to have a limestone appearance as well.

Nothing to bold - just a  nice
stone appearance.

 The 3 story railing
was all unfinished railing
white and boring, so after a consultation between client and artist, it was decided to paint the railing and end spindles in a hammered pewfinished railingter-gold color.

The hammered finish sets it off! It looks great!

AdvSCMichele Zimitski, owner of Advanced Skin Care in Harrisburg, contacted me when she moved into her present location.  Michele was looking for new ideas for the business' presence in the building - ideally something to represent excellent, healthy skin care.  The result?  A plaster-raised stencil pattern of a look-alike 'Marilyn Monroe', the epidemy of beauty and radiance.  A stencil was custom-made to resemble her face and then applied to the wall with a specialty plaster.

This custom-made stenciling idea can be used by anyone, whether in your home or business.  Another example of a custom-made stencil is one of me that I have used in my Home Builder Show
booth.

Custom-made face stencils would be a very unique and interesting way to add to your decor -- perhaps your grandchildren or your pet......Lots of possibilities!
