The Featured Finish "McGrath's Emerald Grille"
Ever since downtown Harrisburg became alive several years ago, one of the very best spots has always been McGrath's Pub on Locust Street off of Second Street. The food and drinks are great, the staff is great and so is the atmosphere. In fact, The Artistic Advantage was commissioned to plaster the walls in the Pub, which added flavor to the walls of this fine establishment.
Now the owners Tom and Amy Scott are about to introduce their new endeavor which opens in May at the Camp Hill Mall ---- McGrath's Emerald Grille! It will be quite exquisite in both decor and in dining.
And once again, the Scott's called upon The Artistic Advantage to add special zest to the walls in the bathrooms. Keeping in line with the 'emerald" in the name of the restaurant, the Ladies' Room walls were troweled in a sparkling jade-colored plaster, then embossed with peacock feathers. Over that a metallic copper plaster was applied.
The walls in the Men's Room stayed with the emerald/copper color scheme also, as metallics are extremely popular in decor and add some dynamic tang to the surroundings. Starting with several layers of a deep, rich emerald venetian plaster, the same copper highlights were troweled to finish the look.
On your night out to McGrath's Emerald Grille, make sure you savor the restrooms!!

"BEFOREs and AFTERs"...
There is no better way to show how a faux finish can change a room or object than to show the "before and after" photos. Here are a few...
This entertainment center did nothing for the Lusterstone plaster wall finish behind it. Sharon wanted it to "pop"
and now it does. It's no longer boring!

This fireplace was non-existent against a white wall.
Now it's "made of blocks of tiled marble edged in a dark metallic granite" ---faux style. Mim's guests now rave about her 'marble fireplace'!! Boring? No more!
Denise and Ed despised thier salmon/pink master bathroom.
So we changed it! Since the floor and tub tile was a peach color that we weren't going to change, we kept the pink wall color as a base color and layered venetian plaster and sandstone over it,
rendering a lighter, multi-toned sandy textured finish. Boring became awesome!
