Worth the Wait!
The revised "org chart" (below) reflects the realization of a long-term goal we set during our 2007 intensive strategic/business planning process. The model we envisioned required finding someone to partner with Rachel in directing Jewish Milestones and in leading the organization into the next stage of our development.
This person would focus on "the workings" of Jewish Milestones while allowing Rachel to focus on "the work itself"---developing educational resources and providing support for those who seek to mark personally significant life transitions through Jewish ritual.
Fast forward to July 2009: "I never thought I'd say it, but it was worth the wait. I've known Dana for about fifteen years and consider her an exemplary professional and a delightful person. She's the perfect fit for Jewish Milestones because she has the skills we need and she's a Jewish educator. Best of all, she actually wants to do this part of the work! " exclaims Rachel Brodie.
"Deb, Jenni, Jen and I are so looking forward to having Dana on staff." says Director of Programs, Julie Batz. "At Jewish Milestones we have to dream big in order to carry out our mission. When Rachel and I started Jewish Milestones five and half years ago, we started with a vision for the revitalization of Jewish lifecycle rituals from birth to death. That's big, and it was meant to be. Given the impact we're already having in the Bay Area, we're inspired and poised to expand. And now, with Dana on board, our staff feels complete and up to the task."
