Monthly National Networking Teleconference Scheduled for 1 p.m. Today

Join in the call today, Monday, August 20, at 1 p.m. for a monthly national networking teleconference, hosted by National Mental Health Consumers' Self-Help Clearinghouse. The calls take place the third Monday of every month. (If the third Monday is a national holiday, the call will take place the fourth Monday.)

Laurie Mitchell Employment Center Offers Free Microsoft Office Training

The course will feature Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 2007, Windows and Internet. As part of the program students will also receive assistance with resume/interview skills and job placement assistance at completion of training. There is an option to take the Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams.

Can you meet the following requirements?
* Basic computer skills
* Type 20 wpm
* Provide documentation of your disability
* Reside in Fairfax County, City of Fairfax, or City of Falls Church
* Commit to 18 weeks of training, Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
* Interested in becoming employed in the next 6 months

New classes begin September 10th at ServiceSource, 6295 Edsall Road, Suite 175 in Alexandria. Space is limited.

"Eastern Henrico Peer to Peer" Meets on August 29th

Open to anyone in the Greater Richmond Area who has lived experience with mental health challenges. The group is devoted to providing a warm, safe and comfortable environment where we share our experiences and support one another in Recovery and Wellness. Come out and take part of this exciting new community!

The group meets every two weeks and will meet this month on August 29th from 6:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.
