SENIOR HOME SALE QUESTIONS FOR PENNY

PROVIDER'S QUESTION

How long are you willing to work with a senior
homeowner? My elderly client wants to take a few
months to downsize - she doesn't want to be "rushed".

PENNY'S ANSWER:

We take great pride in going along with seniors' slower
pace, and we never hurry them! Selling one's home is a
big decision, and unless there are pressing medical or
financial circumstances, it's best to take it one step at a
time. We typically work with our clients for many
months, providing support and resources. One of our
clients has been "in the process" of getting ready to
move for over 16 months, and we are still available to
help. When it's time to sell the home, we're ready to
purchase it in a private and easy sale. Call us for details!

Living arrangements among those 65 and older are
greatly influenced by factors such as gender and race.
Men are four times more likely to be living with a spouse
than living alone, while the likelihood of women living
alone or with a spouse is almost identical. Of the
different racial groups, Asian and Pacific Islander elders
age 65 and older are far more likely to be living with
relatives than any other racial group, suggesting a strong
cultural emphasis on caring for elders.
