Passover Shopping

JEWEL LOMBARD can be your source for your Passover shopping this year. The manager of the store had us help him with his Passover list this year. This is the first time in several years that they are carrying a nice selection of Passover items.  Next time you are near Etz Chaim, stop in and check out their selection. They are located on the corner of Roosevelt and Main St.

 Message from Rabbi Bob

Each Wednesday afternoon I lead assemblies during Hebrew School. We talk about the Torah portion, upcoming holidays or current events. Often the students share serious questions and comments.

All Hebrew Service

On April 22nd we will hold our annual all-Hebrew Friday Evening service. The prayers, the sermon and all the instructions will be in Hebrew. Our rabbis will lead the service in such a way that  even people with "little or no" Hebrew knowledge will be able to follow along and participate. This service is in the spirit of OSRUI's Chalutzim program.

Yom HaShoah- Saturday, April 30th
yom hashoah

Our annual Yom HaShoah service will take place this year on Saturday, April 30th at 7:30 PM. During the service there will be a series of readings, songs and prayers. We will recall the events of the attempt to destroy the Jewish people. The setting and mood of the service differs from other services held her at the synagogue during the rest of the year. We sit close together and take turns reading from descriptions, accounts and reflections on the Holocaust. We begin the service by reciting the Kaddish. During the year we gather as a congregation on many sacred days to remember the events of our past. On Yom HaShoah we come together to mourn and to remember.
