Thank You for Your Support of PADS A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated gift cards for our PADS guests! We received over $1,000 in gift cards for our guests, mostly through our Manna program. The guests were very thankful for the gift cards which were accompanied by hand-made Happy New Year cards made by some young PADS volunteers. To all who supported PADS in 2010, we can't thank you enough. Thank you for the time you volunteered to staff our PADS shelter, the food and kitchen equipment you donated, the money you contributed to the Etz Chaim PADS donative fund, the food you cooked for our PADS guests, the tablecloths you took home to wash, the clean linens and towels you picked up from Good Samaritan or dropped off at the hospital after they had been used, the Manna cards you donated for holiday gifts, the school supplies, warm coats and toiletries you left in the social hall closet, and the greeting cards, scarves, hats and other items you made for our guests.
We both look forward to another terrific year of PADS at Etz Chaim.

Message from Rabbi Cosnowsky
Many people don't know that you don't only have to be thirteen to have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah! You can have one anytime as an adult. In the past few weeks, I have had conversations with congregants who shared that having a Bar and Bat Mitzvah as an adult was one of the joys of their lives. Read full article...

Night Owls Needed For PADS
Every so often one of our PADS late night shift volunteers has a conflict and we need to find a sub. If you don't mind being awake late at night and enjoy having a quiet place to read or practice your favorite quiet hobby, this may be the opportunity for you. Two volunteers sit in the Etz Chaim kitchen the first and fifth Sunday night/Monday morning of each month from 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM or 3:00 AM to 7:30 AM while our PADS guests sleep. Contact Susan Brodie to join the PADS night owl list; Susan will contact you if a need arises.
