Greetings!

Exodus 34:5-7 (NLV)
 5 Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and he called out his own name, Yahweh. 6 The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out,    "Yahweh! The Lord!
      The God of compassion and mercy!
   I am slow to anger
      and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.
 7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations.
      I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin.
   But I do not excuse the guilty.
      I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren;
   the entire family is affected-
      even children in the third and fourth generations."

Malachi DadsChurches are Needed to Come Alongside Ex-Offenders Returning Home from Chester County Prison and Their Families

Chester County Prison Chaplain Jack Crans is seeking churches willing to assist in the prison and the community in shepherding ex-offenders who will be returning to Chester County communities, and their families.

The Chester County chaplain is seeking churches, faith-based organizations and individuals to help create a strong prisoner re-entry /family support network, both within and outside the prison.

Several current prisoners, part of a new Malachi Dads initiative to help mitigate the issue of fatherless in families, will be released over the next several months, and need continued assistance and discipleship within their communities.

Malachi Dads was developed in Louisiana State Penitentiary in 2003 by Awana Clubs International, a long-time Christian ministry focused on helping churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth from ages two to 18.  Information on Malachi Dads, currently in place in nearly 30 prisons across the country and the first in Pennsylvania, is available at: www3.awana.org/lifeline

This initiative will include a second activity for women to be started this fall, and is expected to be extended to general fatherless family populations in the future.  Interested churches and individuals should contact Chaplain Crans at jackccgm@aol.com
