Shoes to Share- Operation T.H.E.R.E.
"The Haitian Earthquake Relief Effort"
Shoes2Share was birthed in Haiti when the organization's founders, Tim and Rhonda Wampler, spent significant time there during an extremely difficult adoption process of their 2 youngest children. Through communications with their friends and associates in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, they have received heart-wrenching, eyewitness accounts of the terror and devastation brought about by this disaster.
Shoes2Share is facilitating a significant outreach to the nation of Haiti through Operation T.H.E.R.E. To get more information about this outreach and to find out how you can contribute please visite their website: www.shoes2share.com |

Unemployed/Underemployed Workshop- 2/6
The Ministers Alliance of Coatesville and Vicinity has scheduled a free workshop on how churches can help maximize their resources in helping meet the needs of the unemployed and underemployed during these difficult economic times.
Showing the Love of Jesus to the Unemployed and Underemployed will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 6, at Towerville Christian Church, 10 Hannum Drive at Strasburg Road, Towerville (Coatesville). It is open to area pastors, church leaders and individuals who have a heart for those who are struggling and would like to learn more about helping to meet both physical and emotional needs of the many unemployed and underemployed. The workshop also will present applications that are adaptable to other types of ministries to those who are struggling.
Casey Jones of Transformation Initiative of Parkesburg, a ministry that collects and shares information about the wealth of community resources available to individuals and families, will lead the activity.
Subjects will include an assessment of physical and emotional needs for both the unemployed and underemployed and their spouses and children, many of which go unrecognized; equipping congregations in undertaking an effective role in assisting those who are struggling; increasing the capacity of the church to help meet needs through easy enhancement of already existing resources; helping to identify and maximize use of internal and external resources and services that are available readily in a community; and development and enhancement of built-in networks that can assist persons in actually obtaining new employment.
Pre-registration is requested to help ensure availability of sufficient workshop materials.

Hope and Healing for Broken Kids- March 13
Early bird registration rates expire on February 1.
Saturday, March 13th, 8:45am to 5pm
Brokenness and pain run deep and wide in today's youth culture. Our kids are victims of family breakups, violence, incest, date rape, sexual abuse, and other devastating circumstances. Today's kids are faced with issues of increasing complexity, but ignoring these issues is simply not an option. Working with hurting kids should not be taken lightly.
This CPYU one day seminar will help you answer the question "What do I do now?" and give you the confidence to listen and respond wisely to what your kids unload on you. Youth specialists Marv Penner and Rich Van Pelt will help you unpack and respond to the complex realities a majority of kids face today. You'll be equipped to offer a biblically rooted path towards wholeness- a path we're all going to be called to walk with hurting young friends.
