September 6, 2008 - Fields on the SacoOn this night, everything that touches your taste buds will have been raised in the rich fertile ground of three bordering family farms in two bordering states, Maine and New Hampshire. This culinary adventure features fine dining in a gorgeous agricultural setting, highlighted by local artists and much more. It benefits the Mt Washington Valley Green Team and the local food pantry. September 6-8 - World Championships of Mud Football celebrates Mudamerican Bandstand: Here's some good clean fun as the "Best Mud Football Teams" duke it out for the world mud football title. The fun begins Friday, September 5 and continues through Sunday, September 7, all with a Mudamerican Bandstand theme. Tickets are available at Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce (MWVCC). For ticket information call 603-356-5701. September 13-14 - Especially if you're a dog or car lover - check out all the great events, from Hot Dogs at Cranmore's Oktoberfest to Bark in the Park, and Dog Daze on the Conway Scenic. Car nut? Catch the Climb to the Clouds Vintage Weekend at the Mt. Washington Auto Road and 17th Annual Mt. Washington Valley Old Car Show at Settlers' Green. September 20-21- Great Glen Trails will host Women's Fall Escape, an autumn getaway for women focused on health and relaxation. Activities will include kayaking, mountain biking, yoga and massage. The entire weekend is designed by women for women. Highlights of the weekend will include kayak trips on the Androscoggin River, biking tours on the trails at Great Glen Trails, yoga clinics and an evening owl prowl. Cost is $145 per person including meals. Make lodging arrangements with partners like nearby Royalty Inn or Snowflake Inn.

Playgrounds: Parents and kids will find a captivating playground right in the middle of North Conway, next to Schouler Park. If you have a little one who loves fire engines, the North Conway Fire Station is right next-door.
Diana's Baths: A scenic walk just a half -mile from Cathedral Ledge takes you to cascading falls, waterspouts and granite basins along Lucy Brook. Tip for adults: On a full moon summer night there's no where more romantic than a moonlight swim. The Weather Discovery Center: Thanks to support from the Mt. Washington Auto Road and Great Glen Trails, admission is free for individuals and families this summer. The only museum in the country dedicated to weather, this special place offers a hands-on, interactive science museum, bringing the wonder of the atmosphere right to your fingertips! There are interactive displays, conversations with weather observers on top of Mount Washington and our favorite is a replica of the weather station when the highest winds were recorded on top of Mt Washington.
