Ahhh, it's beginning to look and feel like autumn. This is the favorite time of year for locals and visitors. As summer's green gives way to fall, the Valley's patina of harvest colors shines. With cooler temps during August and earlier summer rainfall, many are predicting a brilliant fall foliage, possibly coming a little earlier this year. Already we're seeing twinges of colors in the landscape. By the end of the month, the foliage will be brilliant in the northern part of the Valley. The beauty of this region is that foliage lasts a long time. Traditionally peaking over Columbus Day, the southern part of the Valley maintains color almost through October. Now is the time to start planning your fall foliage getaway. Please drive safely on your way up to the Valley.

Washington Valley, but once the leaves start turning, availability will change as quickly as the colors. It's a good idea to start thinking about dates for your fall foliage getaway, and if you're planning on coming during peak season (September 20-October 20), our sincere advice is to book with the lodging property of your choice now rather than waiting until the selection of rooms is limited later.
