Despite Mother Nature's fury with back-to-back storms dumping more than 5 feet of snow on Mount Washington in April, spring has come to Mt. Washington Valley. Die hard skiers were treated to an extra-long ski season and it's only just begun in Tuckerman Ravine. Late season snow means this is the year to climb Tucks! Even if you don't ski, c'mon up and watch the spectacle from Lunch Rocks. Be sure to visit Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce for all the lodging, restaurants and guide services you might seek for your annual Tuckerman trek. And as always, drive safely on your way up.

Get Ready for Spring at Home, Flower & Garden Show. Just in time for spring planting season, learn from 250 vendors about everything from culinary to gardening secrets. The Annual Home, Garden and Flower Show at Fryeburg Fairgrounds will celebrate its sixth year May 18-20, 2007. The show brings hundreds of vendors together in one convenient, easily accessible location. It is an especially timely event because of its emphasis on the garden and landscape material. For year round and vacation homeowners, it is an opportunity to find the professionals needed for building, remodeling, and other projects. The Marketplaces are set up outdoors and offer locally grown and zone hardy perennials, annuals, vegetable seedlings, shrubs, soil enhancers, and garden accessories from seven regional garden centers.

The popular Meet the Chefs cooking series plays to standing-room-only crowds throughout the show. Chefs from local restaurants such as Bellinis and Mount Washington Hotel will join guests from as far as Rockland, Maine for fabulous demonstrations. The Fryeburg show occupies six acres of the fairgrounds with outside displays and seven major exhibit halls. With all the trappings of a country fair in May (including delicious 'fair food'), the event has a flavor that is unique among home & garden shows. For information, visit Home, & Garden Flower Show , at 1-800-359-2033 or 207-935-2845. Tickets available at the show entrance.
