DOG SLED RACES ON LAKE CHOCORUA
If you’re staying in the Valley, January 27-28, plan
to ski one day then take in the annual dog sled
races on Lake Chocorua and the surrounding
woodlands. The races attract teams from throughout
New England and New York, with dog teams ranging
from two to twelve dogs. The best spectating is
found right off Route 16 at the lake. For more

ATTITASH FOUNDERS DAY
Each year Attitash Ski Resort honors its founders by
rolling back the prices to its opening day in 1965.
Plan to ski Attitash on January 26 and enjoy a lift
ticket for $7.50 One catch – get there early. The
“Founders Day” tickets are limited to the first 400

WINTER FEELS GOOD AT GREAT GLEN TRAILS
First time skiers and snowshoers, take advantage of
the “winter feels good” offer from Great Glen Trails

CRANAPALOOZA ON SATURDAYS AT CRANMORE
Be a part of the action at Cranapalooza, an evening
festival from 2pm to 9pm, every Saturday throughout
January at Cranmore Mountain Resort. Guests will
enjoy a variety of events taking place throughout
the resort, in addition to night skiing and snow tubing.
Along with themed activities, Cranapalooza offers
s’mores outside the Eating House, family
entertainment on the Eating House Stage at 4:30pm
and a band until 9:00pm. Also, look out for contests
and giveaways. On January 13, there will be
fireworks at 7:30pm too. If the kids still have
plenty of energy after a day of skiing, Cranapalooza
is the perfect activity. Tickets for night riding
and skiing are priced at $19 Snow tubing is
available until 9pm on Saturday nights and costs $18
for 5 runs or 2 hours. Most other Cranapalooza

SNEAK PREVIEW TO WINTER CARNIVAL
If you’re already beginning to make plans for the
New Hampshire winter vacation week, consider a
family getaway to Mt. Washington Valley. This
year’s Winter Carnival will again coincide with the
New Hampshire school vacation week, running from
February 24 – March 5, 2007. The 4th Annual Winter
Carnival kicks off with an opening ceremony to be
held on February 24th, and will feature fireworks at
Cranmore Mountain. More than thirty activities,
both indoor and out have been scheduled including
events such as: Snow Much Fun Party with live
Bavarian Music, Chilly Chili Cook-off, Ice Carving
Demonstration, Snowmobile Rally, Snow Parade,
Chocolate Festival Ski Tour, Benefit Alpine Ski
Race, Dog Sled Rides, Children’s Glide and Slide
Day, Aerial Shows, Healing Arts Expo, Chamber Music
and much more. Winter Carnival buttons will be on
sale to visitors and residents and will entitle the
bearers to free or discounted entry into the various
events scheduled during the carnival week. The
buttons will be available at the Mt. Washington
Valley Chamber Booth and other selected outlets
throughout the valley. As an added bonus, these
buttons will also entitle the bearers to additional
discounts and benefits at various retailers and

2ND ANNUAL PANTS OFF EXTRAVAGANZA AT BRASS HEART INN
Will people actually be taking their pants off? Not
exactly, but this wild and crazy event has a serious
mission – to raise funds for veterans projects in
Tamworth and Ossippee. It all takes place on
January 17, from 6pm-9pm at the Brass Heart Inn in
Tamworth. It’s a chef’s competition that started
with the understanding that chefs no longer just
wear the traditional black and white pants. This
event will feature 20 chefs from throughout Mt.
Washington Valley serving nibble-sized pieces of
their signature dishes and vying for trophies for
not only the best dish, but the best chef’s outfit
too. There will be entertainment and music offered
by Andre, the locally known DJ, along with cash bar
and raffles too. Tickets are just $10 and available
at the Brass Heart Inn and proceeds benefit
veteran’s memorial projects in Tamworth and
Ossippee. Enjoy some great food, music and dancing,
as you cheer on your favorite chef as they compete
for bragging rights and trophies for the best chef
attire.
