WINNING SCENIC
INN AND RESTAURANT
Are you hooked on Billy Costa’s TV Diner? The 1785
Inn sure is! The 1785 Inn received the highest
possible ranking from Billy Costa's "TV Diner" show on
the NECN (New England Cable Network) television
network, receiving the highly coveted and rarely
given "Platinum Plate Award”. Costa called The 1785
Inn "the ultimate in romantic elegance," "brimming in
Yankee hospitality," and "an amazing value." He said
the desserts were "incredible decadent
masterpieces." In addition to the "stellar cuisine,"
Costa noted the Inn's "breathtaking views"
and "luxurious accommodations," and he said that the
entire property is meticulously maintained.
Additionally, for the twentieth-first consecutive year,
the restaurant at The 1785 Inn has been chosen for
an "Award of Excellence" by a leading wine magazine,
Wine Spectator. Restaurants are selected for this
award as "having one of the finest wine lists in the
world" based on the variety and quality of wines on
their list plus how well the wines match the food
menu. The 1785 Inn has one of the longest
continuous records for receiving this prestigious
award. Not only was The 1785 Inn the first
restaurant in New Hampshire to receive this award, it
has received this award more times than any other
restaurant in New Hampshire.
The 1785 Inn is an historic property built in 1785 by
